Keeping Bonner and giving Coffield a miss coz of his price and so I can bring in 2 premiums.
So many rookies named this week too.

Kelly > Oliver
Billings > Sidebottom!?! 8) ;D (via Garlett) or Gray/Heeney

Current fwd line (Greene, McLean, Billings, D.Smith, Taranto, Dunkley)

Pies and Dees next 4-5 weeks are VERY EASY, pies done with crows, gws and hawks, easy run coming up like the Dees.
As a Pies man Im biased and love Steele, but I am slightly concerned he had 43 possies etc and only got 138, if Danger had 43 he would've got 175. BU he's a gun, rd13 bye and great POD. Decisions Decisions.

Goosey

I currently have one trade locked.

Bonner out, Sicily to DEF, McLean in. Will look at rookies next week, I thought about Bonner to Coffield but didn't like the prospect of three rookies from D4 to D6 (even though Bonner was one too, he just felt like more than a rookie!)

Will save the other for across the round if I need it.

Goldy and Billings get a stay of execution...

Armitage to Sicily or Taranto? Who to have as f4 out of those 2?

Which one's DPP can you make most use of?

no eye deer

I’ve decided to grab the best fwds. Kelly-Heeney, Billings-Gray. I’ve already got the big four in mids, plus Walters, Taranto, fwd and Sicily, who will swing back eventually. Feels right.

Don't understand the logic in trading Billings, Hibberd, Goldy etc.

All proven scorers, those who picked them did so for a reason.

It's a long season, trading prems after a couple of bad games just seems like a waste to me.

I think Heath Shaw set a precedent last year.

Hibberd looks like a different player and the Saint's look showerhouse compared to peoples expectations

Everyone jumping on Coff - just remember these expensive rookies don't make a heap of cash

If he helps generate cash by being a downgrade target, or DPP is actually useful then I see the merit somewhat, but I'd much rather wait and grab Mirra/Guelfi who will make much more if they keep playing
Gotta make more money than Brayshaw, who can't seem to get off the bench or find the pill when he does?
As for waiting for Mirra and Guelfi, it depends on each team's situation.
If I trade Brayshaw > Mirra I'd have to bench Kelly,Finlayson or Holman and play Mirra/Naughton.
I can't trade Brayshaw > Guelfi either as Garlett is already in my mids.
For me and many others it's more I have to get rid of Brayshaw.
In hindsight I should have traded him to Crowden, but went for Henry instead as I thought he had better JS.

Coffield has shown he can score, a few more 70-80 scores and he will still make money.
Brayshaw to Coffield for me as well - Brayshaw at last can be removed from my bench and has a B/e of 54 which is above his 4 round average of 48 so he has to go.
Coffield gives a DPP with Finlayson and has sound JS.  Mirra can come in next week for Lachlan Murphy and Guelfi for Venables as further cash builds and we get another week to see them.
So my trades at the moment.
Baryshaw to Coffield
Armitage to McLean (McLean will eventually move forward),

Decided to hold my trades this round and pass on Coffield, giving Bonner and Fisher another week to see if they can drop their BE's again.  Guelfi and Mirra in next week if they stay in the side.

GoSaints3

Bonner to Acres/Silicy via DPP
Hibberd to Oliver
Kelly to Titch
Venables to Guelfi

Not sure which of these to go? Leaning towards acres/Silicy so I can have only 1 rookie on the field in the fwd line.
Thoughts?

The first one's a great trade if it allows you to have only 1 forward.

I'm not a happy camper. Somewhat forced into trades I normally wouldn't do.
With ZGL not named, Venables injured and Ryan injured I'll cop a doughnut without a trade and that's not an option on the back of two bad weeks. I've dropped from 6k to 36k in the rankings and won only 2 of 20 league games.

Ryan to Walters (cannot afford Heeney or McLean)
Bonner to Mirra (early)

Hope it works out.

I hear ya NZ. Started with Murphy, Ryan, Venables, ZGL, Mcrouch, Hibberd & Josh Kelly. My ranking stinks & I am down to 24 trades already.

Normally I would agree with you.
However
Billings - I picked thinking he and the Saints would improve. Also Gray was out round 1, round 10 bye. Buddy is usually available much cheaper at some point. Menegola the GAJ factor. Greene interupted PS with his toe. I basically picked Billings by default.

Hibberd - not taking kick ins. Lever is the one Dees are looking to free up with his intercept marking. Tossing up between him and Hurley, picked the wrong one.

Goldstein  - got sucked in by that article where he was over mental issues and according to the coach looking like 2015 Goldy. And also the Martin/Smith Grundy/Cox argument. Ryder and Kreuz I passed on due to bye/cost. NicNat injury and limited PS concerns. Again somewhat a default pick.

I think honestly I and many others made the wrong call on these guys. Can't see them improving much, and had it not been for other issues/injuries would have got rid of at least one if not all by now. Plus I gave them another chance or two which turned out to be a bad idea.

Hibberd and Billings in particular I feel are a lost cause. The Saints are shower and Hibberd isn't playing the SC friendly role we hoped for.

Goldy has a chance to redeem himself given being no.1 ruck which gets u points by default. Just needs to get the pill and lay a few more tackles.

Have 280k in the bank so I'm thinking Holman to Yeo and swap Finlayson into M8 depending on if Holman is named.
I usually like to milk cash cows a bit more but there is nobody else that is worth upgrading this early  :-\
