North Melbournes Finest

He's averaging 110+ with lowest score at 90 and highest score 144 in a team that's been getting spanked every week. Does he have a new role? Has he just been lucky? Anyone else considering bringing him in? Can he be a top 6/8 forward?

I'm considering bringing him into my midfield this week as a replacement for Armitage. Eventually moving him forward to as a keeper (hopefully).

Haha, all good, I think Acres is an option, but I like a bit more time to see who you're going to want come end of season hence me avoiding Acres and Hogan now.  I actually brought in Acres in AF though this week.

His CP count is good, clearance count not so much.  Smells like more of the same as last year.  90 average very doable, but I don't think he can crack 95 personally - think he's still gonna be prone to a lower score.

Acres and Dunstan have always seem to have had JS issues (no idea why) but even though he is going well now I can't help but think a bad game or two and he gets dropped again

Don't expect it to actually happen, but I can't shake his prior JS issues

I'd rather grab McLean/Walters etc

Saints like to only play 2/3 really it would seem. Specially now with Arma being available.

As a saints fan I reckon acres should be safe for JS. I view him as probably one of our younger players with the most potential. After the way our season has started I would be extremely disappointed if one of the 3 mentioned (Dunstan, acres, Steele) get left out of our 22 and Armo continues to get a game

Now that Armitage has been dropped, I don't think I have much choice in this trade, as I have to trade for a midfielder for now.

Dunstan, Steele, Armitage and Stevens are all the same. Defensively minded midfielders with poor foot skills who offer nothing offensively. In other words they are very limited footballers. The game is passing by these one-dimensional types and you can no longer play more than 2-3 of them in the same side.

Acres plays a completely different role to these guys and actually has the potential to be elite as a taller, athletic wingman who can push forward and be a nightmare matchup down there. Consistency has been his main issue as well as decision-making at times but it looks like Richo is happy to back him in every week now.

Your post is making me lean towards him, I can't trust Hogan, can't afford Coniglio by $900, not sure on Jack Martin.....

Whilst I agree with you completely, Richo said at the start of the season that he can only pick 2 of Steele, Acres, Dunstan.

As it turns out, its more like 3 of Steele, Acres, Dunstan and Armo. I think they've got the mix right with playing the kids.

I love Acres, and I started him in AF. But I agree with those who said they are worried about him playing a stinker or two and getting dropped - even though it almost certainly wont happen haha

strikeforce

Havent really heard much about him and don't really know much about him myself

Can saints supporters tell me his role? Started the season on fire and is also a forward? will he be top 6-8 forward or am i better of getting Merrett/Neale?

Bringing him i  this week. So prepare for an average of 75 for the rest of the year.

I felt the same way about Heeney last season as I do about Acres now.  Thinking "surely he can't keep going?" every single week.  Breakout players who score predominantly on the outside scare me a lot.  But Heeney proves it can be done.
