Eric the Eel is a batler, gotta luv someone that will have a crack no matter how outclassed he is. Nearly shed a tear haha when i saw that race, few years ago now but i'l never forget the name unlike some others.

I didn't think he did that bad. Not olympic standard sure, but still, it wasn't horrible.

In his qualifying Heat for the 100mtr's fly (World record 48secs) he turned on his 1st lap at 40 secs and came flying home to touch

at 1.52secs, i thought for awhile the lifeguards were going to have to jump in and rescue him as he was looking pretty shakey there

for a bit but battled home. So he only just missed the world record by a lazy 1minute 4 seconds, the fact the others could of

jumped back in and swam another 100 and then complete another lap just for fun takes nothing away from his achievement and

being the first to swim for his country which doesnt even have a pool. Dont get me wrong i love the guy, he's a legend and thats

something i'l never be.

actually, his country did have a pool, just not a public one- he worked at a hotel and learnt to swim in the pool there.

You cant go swimming in his country from memory due to like crocodiles and hippos and shizzle.

Cheers Zip i didnt know that regarding the Hotel pool. No wonder he was knackered after one lap in a 50mtr pool.
