Can anyone shed some light on why this kid has killed it in the first 2 weeks? Role change or just played out of his skin?

$263,600 forward
Break even -48
Scores 93 and 110

kilbluff1985

he got a new fishing rod for christmas

Don't get sucked in Quinny, if you want one of his type, Christensen is a far better choice.

Haven't liked the look of Christensen at all tbh. Did nothing in the pre season games or round 1 then scraped to 100 kicking 3 goals which he won't kick most weeks. Fisher seems to score without needing a lot of ball and he tackles well which I like.
Not sure I'll go there anyway but curious to hear why the spike in scoring

TableKing

Im on thw Fisher band wagon when compared to Bundy anyways. Fisher seems to have a hunger for tackling and like pthers have said Bundy does not look too impressive especially with Lions run of competition.
Will pull the trigger on Fisher and hope he can stay in that 80 to 100 mark.

Colley Dogs

I'm a Carlton fan, and love what Fisher has produced in the first couple of weeks.

(For the record: I have Dunkley & Christensen at F5 & F6, respectively).

In terms of Supercoach, Fisher wasn't on my radar until early last week. I was extremely interested to listen to Dermott Brereton on SEN talking about Fisher un-prompted: he said Fisher had the highest footy IQ he's seen in a young player in a long time.

I like Fisher, but this observation pricked my ears: like maybe he's better than I thought he was. If he's available for selection (which is mostly always), he finds his way into our 22... so clearly Bolton sees something in him.

As a result of Brereton's comments I paid particular attention to Fisher's movement against the Gold Coast (both with and without the ball). His ability to read the play to make himself available to receive the ball, his decision-making with ball-in-hand, and his willingness to apply tackling pressure was impressive.

That these acts are now translating into SC points is hugely exciting to me as a Carlton fan.

With Dunkley and Christensen, however, I'm locked into my first choices: I will not be trading Fisher into my team. But if I could do it all over again I'd rank the 200K - 300K players in the following order:

1. Fisher
2. Christensen
3. Dunkley

That's my two-cents worth.

Bones Bombers

I have the 100k to turn Naughton into him via Sicily. Can then loophole Murray and Murphy this week.

I have a couple of risks/stepping stones in the forward line already but what the hell, add another one!

FWD Billings Smith Melksham, McPherson, Fisher, Fritcsh       Garlett, Ryan

DEF  Yeo, Laird, Hibberd, Sicily, Bonner, Doedee        Murray,Murphy (Finlayson is in the mids for the time being)

After writing it, I'm not sure its a great idea. What do you guys think?

kilbluff1985

flower it i'm getting him in

The thing it comes down to for me is Fisher at F5 or Bonner at D4.

Playing 3 rookies down back seems better than playing 2 forward

The kid has some legit skills. They compared him to Zach Merrett when he was drafted due to his ability to find dangerous positions on the ground and use the ball well. He showed flashes at times last year but has started to put it together in his second season. Being a little stronger around the contest doesn't hurt either since he is of a small stature. He is so clean and damaging with the ball that he doesn't need 30 touches to hurt a team.

He will move into the midfield eventually but right now he provides forward pressure with his tackling and can hit up our forwards going inside 50 probably better than anyone else right now. I'm really considering him as well but I think if he comes back to the mean he might only average 80 odd (which is fine for a stepping stone) but I think downgrading to a rookie to get Danger in ASAP is probably more important.

GoLions

Will be interesting to see how he goes against a top 8 team, has to wait until rd7 though!
