Score Update
Note: I didn't double check any of these scores after calculating them so may be off, I'll do it proper and double check tomorrow as final results come in.

Colorado: 1249 add Smith, Fogarty, Blicavs and HGA (currently 41)
Las Vegas: 1343 add Taylor and Mitchell (c)
You'd back Las Vegas from here, unless Mitchell gets hurt early.

Wisconsin: 1317 add Ablett (cc), O'Meara, Duncan, sub (currently 40->87) and HGA (currently 40)
Quito: 1586 add Breust and sub (currently 31->74)
Again you'd back Wisconsin to get up from here, but definitely in the realm of possibility for a Quito win.

Carolina: 1317 add Kolodjashnij, Henderson, Roughead, Menegola, Kelly, sub (currently 34->59) and HGA (currently 34)
Houston: 1496 add Tuohy
Poor week by the bombers (in two senses). Still have the runs on the board (unlike those cheating Australians) but can't see the Panthers losing.

San Francisco: 1460 add Stewart, Hawkins, sub (currently 19->37) and HGA (currently 19)
Ottawa: 1507 add Shiels and sub (currently 28 -> McEvoy)
Terrible week again (6 scores under 45, all by good scorers too bar AMT), but should get up.

Boston: 1293 add Glass, Z. Guthrie, Selwood (c), Z. Smith, sub (currently 39->49) and HGA (currently 39)
Anaheim: 1273 add Hardwick, Dangerfield (c), Puopolo, Burgoyne and sub (currently 42->76)
Very close...could be based on HGA or, more likely, captain output.

Chicago: 1513 add Sicily, Menzel, and HGA (currently 37)
New Brooklyn: 1558 add Gunston and sub (currently 50->85)
Also reasonably close, would give Chicago the edge just.

Reserves

Colorado: 404
Nevada: 587 add Bews and O'Brien

Milwaukee: 617 add Impey
Galapagos: 496

N. Carolina: 435 add Brand
Rio Grande Valley: 419 add Howe (c)

Stanford: 739 add Gregson
Montreal: 212

Suffolk: 322 add Guthrie (c) and Parsons
Birmingham: 383

Rockford: 596
Harlem: 504 add Duryea

Wisconsin Cockerels

B: Alex Witherden (77), Steven May (68), Dane Rampe (38 - Sub OFF), Hamish Hartlett (45)
M: Gary Ablett Jnr (CC), Jaeger O'Meara, Lachie Whitfield (115), Dayne Zorko (105), Luke Shuey, Jack Macrae
R: Max Gawn (97 x 1.75 = 170)
F: Charlie Curnow (96), Jack Billings (79), Matt Taberner (100), Josh J. Kennedy (DNP)
U: Touk Miller (51), Mitch Duncan, Lloyd Meek (DNP)

E: Jacob Townsend (41), Jarrad Waite (125), Adam Saad (B), Mark LeCras (sub)

Townsend in for Meek
Waite in for JJK

11/1,027

Lost Charlie Cameron's score because of Juke's bs - but didn't stop me beating him last week despite my captain only scoring in the 30's (would have been a thrashing if Zorko had got a respectable score, rather than a near upset) :P

Quito (our old rivals when we were Santiago) has played well and, barring something special from my leadership group, the result is looking grim

1027 + Hartlett (45) + Shuey (63) + Macrae (142) + LeCras (87)

= 1364 + GAJ (1.75) + Duncan + O'Meara

No Mitch Duncan means 60 from Saad comes on. No emergencies left for someone else to drop out (please). Is this the way the footy gods frown down upon loopholing in a keeper league?

Colorado Avalanche 15.11.101 lost to Las Vegas Sinners 17.9.111
(Real: 1519 vs 1672)

Not too shabby by the Avalanche, but just not good enough to beat the Sinners, lead again by captain Mitchell's big score. Jarryd Lyons also went huge for the Sinners, but they'll be extremely disappointed by Rockliff playing like a sack of spuds (but even then, that's being harsh on the spuds). Polec was the best afield for the Avalanche, but their young stars aren't shining through too much just yet. In the reserves, Jeff Garlett set the standard with a huge 152 as the Coyotes look set for a big tilt at back-to-back premierships.

Best
Colorado: Polec, Blakely, Smith, Witts
Las Vegas: Lyons, Mitchell, Westhoff, Carlisle

Reserves
Colorado Bootleggers 6.4.40 lost to Nevada Desert Coyotes 10.7.67
(Real: 404 vs 667)

Wisconsin Cockerels 18.7.119 defeated Quito Quetzals 17.12.114
(Real: 1779 vs 1704)

In the most discussed match of the round (by far), and in the wake of the big Australian cricket cheating scandal, the Cockerels get home, at home, semi-comfortably, although not without a lot of pressure from several sources. If Vice-Captain Jeremy Cameron could've gotten a real vice-captain score, and if sub Billy Longer Callum Mills or Roughead didn't play awfully they would've gotten up, but alas it was not to be - the loophole cheats Cockerels get home. Tom Lynch was huge and was helped by great delivery from Curnow, Swallow, and Higgins.

Best
Wisconsin: Ablett, Macrae, Waite*, Whitfield, Taberner, Zorko
Quito: Lynch, Curnow, Swallow, Higgins, Seedsman

Reserves
Milwaukee Roosters 10.9.69 defeated Galapagos Tortoise 7.8.50
(Real: 694 vs 496)

Carolina Panthers 18.12.120 defeated Houston Bombers 15.16.106
(Real: 1803 vs 1595)

Just not enough by the bombers, as the Panthers jump to 2-0 on the back of Martin's big day. Sloane as captain was the one real shining light for Houston who were let down by a bunch of passengers, namely VC Beams.

Best
Carolina: Martin, Grundy, Kelly, Kelly, Ward, Ryan, Henderson, Bontempelli
Houston: Sloane, Walters, Simpson, Heeney, Rance, Tuohy

Reserves
North Carolina Tar Heels 7.6.48 lost to Rio Grande Valley Rockets 9.3.57
(Real: 477 vs 569)

San Francisco Grizzlies 15.23.113 lost to Ottawa Otters 18.6.114
(Real: 1689 vs 1711)

I won't go over it here, pm me for the many stupid things that happened to give this result - looking at who's named in the best gives a minor indication (look at me starting on the things here), but so does Scully's 19 (also HGA), Mayes 45 (good player), Stef 63 (superstar), Watts 44 (gun last week), Jack 50 (gun last week), Young 43 (gun last week), McDonald-Tipungwuti 37 (he's alright)...but I reckon blaming Jack Watts mostly is fair, that's worked well for Melbourne supporters for a decade!

Best
San Francisco: Wines, Coniglio, Hunter, Jenkins, Shaw, Stewart, Steven
Ottawa: Hogan, McEvoy, McLean, Taranto, Treloar, Webster, Dixon

Reserves
Stanford Cardinal 12.6.78 defeated Montreal Moose 3.3.21
(Real: 776 vs 212)

Boston Terriers 18.9.117 defeated Anaheim Mighty Ducks 18.7.115
(Real: 1757 vs 1732)

Lived up to it's match-of-the-round hype by producing a great spectacle. Questionable selection tactics left the Terriers a bit poorly off (Christensen OOP in the backline, Thomas brought on so no sub, Zach Guthrie also coming in) but they just got home in the end, and they can thank their lucky stars that Burgoyne got hurt, and that Sandilands and Puopolo could only manage 42 each. Both captains (Selwood 140 and Dangerfield 130) were fantastic, vice-captains were okay (Neale 96 and Merrett 95), but a few too many passengers on both teams for their likings. And to really rub salt in the wound...the Terriers won the ressies as well.

Best
Boston: Selwood, Goldstein, Howe, Laird, Martin, Gray, Pendlebury, Christensen
Anaheim: Dangerfield, Mundy, Boak, Smith, Lewis, Hurley

Reserves
Suffolk Terriers 8.6.54 defeated Birmingham Dragons 5.8.38
(Real: 540 vs 383)

Chicago Sharks 17.12.114 defeated New Brooklyn Hawks 17.11.113
(Real: 1709 vs 1688)

Another very close game, with home ground advantage getting the Sharks over the line...just! Clayton Oliver (146) was the best-on-ground - as captain - in a match-winning performance, while Matt Crouch (51) getting injured as VC for the Hawks probably cost them the match, although Membrey (30) and Weller (50) didn't help either. As for the reserves, the Bears got the one-point win as well...ouch! Taylor Duryea did well but just not enough to get them over the line.

Best
Chicago: Oliver, Hurn, Menzel, Parker, Yeo, Gaff, Kennedy, Tyson
New Brooklyn: Jacobs, Brown, Cripps, Doedee, Johannisen, Nankervis, Wilson

Reserves
Rockford Bears 9.6.60 defeated Harlem Naggers 9.5.59
(Real: 596 vs 585)

double or nothing this round

Juker I'm not sure why you mentioned Billy Longer being the Quito sub? He's not on our list. Regardless, it doesn't impact the result. Putting up some respectable performances, hopefully we break the duck soon.

Because I can't read aha - he was the Colorado sub and I must have looked up there rather than to the game below when I was doing my writeup. Scores are all correct I assure you, just I looked at the team right above yours for that part of your loss reasoning/explanation!

powersuperkents

That was the most bias commentary I have ever seen in this league haha

My team still scored the second highest score of the round (falling short of the highest by one point)

And the loophole was meaningless because I surrendered depth and Charlie Cameron (my original utility) would have made up for the loss of Jarrad Waite

I’ll take that as a challenge for next week’s commentaries 8)

Second highest score in the ressies too
