Hey guys,

I live overseas and don't have access to as much content as you folks would living in Australia, I started off with Ryder but it looks like he'll be out for sometime according to the coach. Who's a viable long-term replacement for him? NicNat? Witts? Goldy? Martin? Personally im leaning towards NicNat because of his monstrous impact on any game but the lack of match fitness is a bit of a concern, your feedback is greatly appreciated!

I'd be careful with NicNat, he'll continue to have his minutes managed. Goldy would be my pick mate

Naitanui as long as you have English for cover. All 4 of the guys mentioned look good at this stage though.

You reckon Goldy can keep it up all year? Had a monster 1st half but was pretty quiet in the second half, also a tad concerned about the coach saying they will bring on Preuss at some point to take the work load off goldy

I'd go NN. Yes minutes will be managed but he always had relatively low minutes. He'll only get better.
I started Goldy and although he had a decent score he should have got much more due to amount of stoppages. Witts beat him by 20+. And something I should have weighed up was Goldys previous highest ruck rank seasons were when North weren't total crap. They're gonna get belted most weeks and he has a sub-par midfield to work with. I'm starting to regret starting him I think I got caught up in the romantic comeback to form story plus POD ness!

1. I just went through quickly each game to see how many HO were won, in the North GC game there was 88 HO. The average number of HO for the other 8 games was 77 so it wasn't an abnormally high number of HO, infact it wasnt even the highest game.

2. Witts is a pretty decent ruck and Goldy won the HO contest 35 to 34. The reason why Witts got the bigger score is he recorded a massive 21 kicks.

3. Correct North really hasnt been this bad since 2009 when Goldy was a 21 year old kid. But realistically North hasnt really been that good either, pretty much been 8-10th every year except 2014 when we went 6th.

4. Id also say Norths inside midfielders are actually one of their stronger points and even go as bold as to say they have an above average midfield around him. Cunnington was top 5 in the AFL in center clearances last year.

Cunners #5
JZ # 34
Higgins #49
Dummont #59

Summary: The guy was on 85 at half time so that shows what he can do, he is priced at 95 and went 10 points over that so was a sucessfull pick soo far.

The risk is Preuss but the other factors arent going to be an issue.

I think any of Goldy, Martin, Jacobs, Witts or NicNat would be a good pick. Possibly Kreuzer too, depending on the extent of his injury.

Personally speaking, Kreuzer is far too big a risk with his injuries which is a shame because he's great when he get going, thanks for the feedback everyone!

Good points and I hope you're right in that Preuss is the only factor. I still have my doubts tho, Witts is decent but GC are likely to be battling North for the wooden spoon so I worry about when he plays top 8 teams. 8-10th is a lot different to 17-18th.

I'm not concerned by Goldy at all. Looked good and was a horrible night for him getting extra points with marks around the ground

Was the right week to have a subdued second half, otherwise all the Ryder & Kreuzer defectors would have been piling in.

Ryder out 5-6 weeks question answered bye bye Patrick

GoLions

Looking at Stef and Goldy. NFI which one to pick. Goldy gives me a bit more cash. Atm Preuss more likely to play than Oscar/Archie. Looks like most here are going Goldy or NN? Personally, not touching NN at all. Ugh, idk. Might go Stef.

GoSaints3

Im leaning towards Grundy. Just think he is young and improving, with cox playing primarily forward Grundy should get a fair bit of sole rucking.
Not too keen on goldy or Martin cause I think smith and preuss could come in at any stage. Jacobs and witts are the other ones im looking at. Witts not so sure with Nicholas still there
