Round 2 trades

I know the golden rule after round 1 is do not trade unless it’s LTI but I’m thinking ahead...

Is it worth grabbing English as F8 at the expense of Ryan as a correctional trade? Have Langdon as my other FWD on bench. How is Ryan’s JS? Even if he’s named tomorrow how do we know that will last till round 3 or beyond? Don’t want another Pickett.. On the other hand, English looks pretty good to me and I think should be safe if he’s playing like he is.

Then, after round 2, get Bonner if he kills it again or scores relatively well. Problem is I only have $40k so Naughton to him without even doing the English trade isn’t enough. That’s where Brayshaw comes in...if it’s another average game, Fogarty comes in and the cash can be used to get Bonner for Naughton.

P.s the English trade is just a correction trade so it’s more of a cash generation trade, has DPP and make cash quicker hence upgrade to a premo faster.

I've found myself in this situation many times before, where round 1 identifies 3+ players you don't have that you might want to get in. So you look at making a move round 1 to get one of them to free up getting the other two next week.

Things I keep in mind: a great score in round 1 is only in the 3 game average for one price rise. So you have no measure of how well they can back that up. Fogarty got 82 this week, if he backs it up with a 19 then the chatter stops pretty quickly. English is similar, perhaps with the advantage that he's one of few potential options for cheap ruck cover. I wish I'd been more onto it before rd1 and put him in R3.

Bonner stands to make the least by virtue of starting at a higher price. But if he scores around 120 again that might change.

In your position, I would not be making any changes, another round of data might show you that you actually only want 2 of the 3, and you have no way of knowing which are the "right" 2 now. One might not be named round 3, who knows? If it eventuates that you do want all 3, then you make a decision based on projected points and price changes, and cop a small loss...

With that said, as a Libba/Ryder owner, I'm bringing in English for Ryder if he's named, because I don't really like any of the other prem options for various reasons, so if I'm going to gamble I'll make it small stakes!

Will burn 2 trades if English doesn't pay off as R2, which doesn't feel like small stakes to me.

You can replace English with anyone else and your comment is the same :P

English isn’t going to be my final R2, but Ryder and Gawn to me were the only standout Rick choices. Stef Martin is maybe next up, but I’m still not sold on him.

What if I get Goldy and the Preuss comes in? What if I get Witts and GC just get spanked all season? What if I get NicNat and he gets injured again? Can’t predict any of them, but if I get English instead I have cash for a prem somewhere else, or to bring in a prem rick when there is a clearer standout.

Why would you go early when Kreuzer plays tomorrow arvo and NN Sunday arvo so no need to pull the trigger until you definitely know Kreuzer is out.

As in a round early.. this round not round 3. Of course tomorrow lol?
