If you made the stupid mistake of leaving both dusty and Mitchell out of your starting side in the hope of a miracle, and now it’s time to admit you’re a fool and you’re going to get one of them back this week......which one would you get and why?

Danger is the one you should target. Dusty has Adelaide away, might struggle a bit. As for TMitch, I'm calling it early, will cop a hard tag this week.

Guthrie seems the obvious choice for that task, but even so I can't see too many teams being successful in tagging a player like him. Might just restrict him to 30 touches :P
Let's be real though, Titch had 54 touches and ONLY scored 167, if he gets restricted to 30 touches he's unlikely to put up a 130+ that will burn you.

Depends where you're getting the money from to trade to either Titch or Dusty, but there weren't that many injuries that make me think the trade would be worth it this week, I'd just prioritise getting one of them as the first upgrade and ride it out until then.

It's true Titch does need high 30's to go 130+, but you pick him because he is so consistent and tons up nearly every single week and that's gold

The money is in the bank to upgrade Lambert (who I took a punt on being a POD in forward line and is not going to be a winner now I think more about it) to go to anyone in either mids or fwds. Ones I’m weighing up are dusty, Mitchell, and Heeney. Perhaps I grab Heeney first and then plan upgrades for others.

Depends which rookies you have to play on field for mine. If getting Titch means you have to play say a Ryan or Garlett up forward, and Heeney means you field a Holman or the like, it’s an easy decision for me.

Holman had 13 tackles, was tailored made for his style of play. Reckon Garlett can go toe to toe with Bundy from here.

Do yourself a favour and HOLD Lambert.
He was still the leading running on the ground against Carlton, his work rate is huge.
If you look at Lambert's scores on Footywire from 2nd half of last year you will see that he scores 70 one week
and 115-120 the next. That's the ride you are on. He is an important part of the Tigers who are good again this year
and he will throw in some big games and a few lower ones, should average 90-93/95 so he is a keeper.

Byrne $228k, scored well below the other rookies for this week just gone and looked lost for 3 quarters. Considering trading already (bad choice I can admit but I was afraid of defensive and forward rookies) but can swing Sicily back, push Garlett to a starting forward role and grab Fogarty from the Cats. Opens up $128k for me to play with and two trades next week which I think I may need.

Thoughts????

Good move, I'm locking in Fogarty this week because you never know what can happen next week. I get the fact it's better to get a 2 match preview but an injury or two & all the potential cash cows can slip through the fingers.

Mongoose528

Worth going Brayshaw -> Fogarty, if it allows me to bring in English next week, and do Naughton -> Bonner next week?

I feel like I'm chasing points a little, but from what I've heard, the players mentioned above are positioned to be cash cows. Thoughts?

take a breath, this is SC not AF, unless you have massive issues, just wait until the end of round 2 and get a clear picture of where everyone sits.

The only reason you should really trade in week 2 is LTI, someone like Libba if you chose him.

More about opening up the possibilities for 2 trades next week, I knew Byrne wouldn't score great and needed him for JS more than anything. Looks like there is more guys on offer than I thought.

I'd hate to need a 3rd trade next week because I didn't do one the week previous and then need to make one after prices change. That'd flower you big time I reckon.

There is definitely merit in waiting another week to get a higher sample size and conserving trades.
However, I believe there is also merit in trading aggressively early to ensure u get all the best rookies u can AND fix any obvious mistakes.
We only get 2 trades next week. What happens when injury strikes 1-2 or more players (Ryder and Libba for e.g already) AND there are two rookies u need to get in? U either miss out on a rookie or two, are forced to get them after a price rise, or cop a 30 point rookie score(or 2) while u delay trading an injured gun(or 2).
Too many times I've been too conservative with trades and it's backfired.
Now I always assign 1-4 trades in first 2 rounds then hold until injuries/rookies fatten. Always. And it helps get a good start and get the best rookies available.

Flower you more than running out of trades towards the end of the season and copping donuts?

The only people trading this week should be Libba/Ryder owners etc

Months of research went into selecting our starting sides - can't make firm calls on whether you got something right or wrong based off one round of football - we picked them for a reason, and that reason cannot change that much from 1 match

Round 3 is when we do our rookie corrections, so guys like Fogarty, English and Bonner we get another look at this week

Remember, if you miss one of them then so be it, you'll get something to make up for it later in the year with the extra trade etc. Sometimes we just need to pass on certain players, and just hold back

Just my 2c

I was going to sit still but....
Tbell => English F5
Naughton => Heater D4

Other backs Laird, Hibbert, Savage plus Doedee, Murphy Keeffe (provide fwd link)
Sicily back to fwds F4

Thoughts on HShaw?? His role is "business" as usual??

does appear to be back to normal.     was a d3 option with lloyd, savage, and hibberd   started savage.   get the feeling shaw will have another good sc year.
