Goosey

It's an intentional step! How does that get sent straight to the judiciary, surely it's just a fine for stupidity! This is getting out of hand, surely even the Thomas bump can be penalised without having to be sent to the judiciary? Is Christian not confident enough to mete out his own punishment?

AaronKirk

Different players get treated differently.

If it was Dusty or Danger that stepped on Atley it would be play on and nothing in it.

Because it is a perceived flog then he cops a ban (I'm guessing 1-2 weeks).

Selwood will surely challenge his striking ban.

Gotta agree watching talking footy and they were saying Burton got nothing for Higgins intentional or not he chose to bump and not tackle and got him high , if that had of been Lindsay Thomas like him or not it would have been 2 or 3 weeks  ::)

Toga

It's true, but these guys get a reputation for a reason. What goes around comes around unfortunately!

I generally like Sic, he just doesn't help himself though :(

EA100

I know I'm a bit late to this topic, but just on the Sicily incident. I saw it on TV once, and that was just plain dumb by him. It just doesn't make the game look good when footage like this is found. Secondly, the bloke already knows he's in the bad books with the MRP, like why do something stupidly intentional like that. He deserves a week off to think about the reputation he's building for himself. He's become a really good player but he definitely needs to mature a lot and stop making silly decisions that get him rubbed out..

Gigantor

So with Burton getting off does this mean decisions will now be made based on intent not outcome?
Feel like Chrisso has set a massive precedent with this decision

Regarding accidental head clashes, then yes it does.

Of course, was too good to be true.

Thomas gone for 4 weeks as well,

MRP has reviewed Cats/Giants game. 3 charges laid & 1 other matter explained.
Tom Hawkins can accept $2000 sanction, rough conduct on N Haynes.
Tom Hawkins referred directly to Tribunal, intentional contact with umpire D Margetts. Intentional contact is a referral - No early plea
Adam Tomlinson can accept $2000 sanction, rough conduct on J Bews.
Jordan Murdoch cleared contact J Hopper. The two players hit the ground simultaneously and the Murdoch tackle was deemed not careless and was not unreasonable in the circumstances.

RaisyDaisy

He touched the umps hand and gets sent straight to tribunal?

World's gone mad

Fine him and move on

Agree RD - But apparently the rules are intentional contact direct referral to tribunal.
