Good news for Murphy I think.

Glad I have him on bench instead of O’Connor. A couple of price rises would be nice

Lucky to only get 1 week.

Good stuff, I would be arguing the precedent of Cotchin in the prelim. Basically the same incident and Cotchin got off (shouldn't have IMO, but he did).

AaronKirk

He chose to bump instead of going for the ball and hit Zerrett in the head. Zerrett concussed and out for remainder of the game. Surely cannot be overturned.

And I agree with SL's point about Cotchin.

Re the Zerrett incident ... I remember half way through the first quarter Zerrett took Douglas down in a tackle. The result was a free kick to Zerrett, they both ended up face to face and had words. 5 mins later Douglas runs past the ball and smashes him in the head. The result is concussion and he misses the rest of the game. 1 week is getting off lightly imo.

I've heard Zerrett wasn't actually concussed, the Essendon doctors just wanted to play it safe due to his previous concussion issues, not that I think that matters because it should only come down to intent.

Not sure how he's gonna get off, lucky to only get one week, but we're only risking $10,000 if we fail, I think, so not a huge loss.

Probably worth a punt with a big game coming up they also lost Hampton and don't know if Tex or Lynch are certain to play

Cotchin was contesting the ball and bumped his opponent off where the ball was. Never ran past the ball. Douglas ran past the ball and was never going for the ball. Will be lucky to get off I think

Couple More

MRP has completed review of Rd1 and NAB AFLW. 6 charges laid and one other incident cleared with an explanation. Mitch Robinson can accept 1 game, striking Seb Ross.
Mason Cox can accept 1 game, striking Daniel Howe.
Brayden Maynard can accept $1000 sanction, staging.

Exactly right. Plus there is no precedent as the system is new this year so arguing points from last season aren't going to hold up

The only vision I can see of the Robbo incident ,and I did not even see it in the game, was pushing Ross with an open hand to the face.  So if that is the new definition of striking God help us so hoping for consistency from this new one man review person.
