What’s the point of these 50m penalties? I mean really,  ::)does a player drifting through in the background 10m away really affect anything?

The rule has been like that for 3 years. If you're still getting pinged you deserve it for being stupid. The whole reason is because players drift through the corridor and the AFL wants more open play.

As a neutral I’ve really enjoyed this game tonight! Pretty impressed by the fight and determination and some of the ball movement from the blues.

I love him, but Ciaran Byrne has been really, really poor tonight.

He’s tried to take on the game and run and carry but tonight he looked like each time he was just biting off more than he could chew

Good Start for me 427/2 or thereabouts... Dusty will get the C and Simmo.

Martin, Cripps, Curnow, Simpson all very impressive tonight. Thought after being talked up a bit over the last few weeks that Weitering was extremely poor.

Good fighting win by the Tiges but lots to like about the Blues. They look capable of kicking a winning score this year and plenty of good young talent coming through.

Picked Dusty at the last moment over Neale, already regretting it.

Agreed. Defensively I thought he was alright (still needs to improve in the air) but offensively he felt lost. I think he got the green light to run, carry and take the game on but got himself into trouble. He needs to find a balance because he has the ability to break away and punish teams with his run and carry. It probably doesn't help that Richmond were putting work into him off the ball and he was subsequently running into the wrong spots or was looking for the cheap ones instead. He'll be much better next week, pressure is on though with Williamson and Cuningham also after the spot. I don't think he was worse than Mullett who was the other guy playing that role.

Yep I was watching him closely as well. Very frustrating watching the spots he would run into offensively
