1 win locks us in the top 2, not sure who I'd rather play first week of finals though?  Maybe GWS due to all their injuries and average travel record?  Bit scared to play Hawks.

Yee haa!

Pretty happy to be playing Pies out of most of the teams to be honest.  Some revenge for the 2007 overtime final where they got us.

Saturday night makes no sense at all, but hopefully we get the W and the extra week off

No footy next weekend is going to make the wait even more painful lol

How would you structure the finals? People are complaining about the fixture but no one is offering up an alternative structure that is fair.

The way I see it keeping the Th-Fr-Sat-Sat structure means the current fixture is the only way that is going to work.

WC/COL on Thursday would lead to either 2 games at the G on Saturday (never going to happen) or SYD/GWS having two less days of recovery (Not going to happen either)

RIC/HAW Thursday, WC/COL Friday means MEL/GEE get two less days

The benefit of finishing Top 4 means you should get the extra break time

I would have thought WCE/COL Thu, Rich/Haw Fri, Syd/GWS Sat twilight and Melb/Geel Sat night makes sense

Collingwood has the longest travel, so playing first allows them to get back Fri, and then they play Fri night vs Syd/GWS and then Haw/Rich play Sat night vs Melb/Geel meaning again that it's just 1 extra day for the Top 4 sides

Yeah but then Collingwood have an 8 day break and Syd/GWS have a 6 day break, the AFL is never going to let that happen.

Except for last year when Geelong lost on the Thursday, and played a Sydney team that won on the Saturday the following week ;)

Nah Geelong lost on the Friday, Giants lost on the Thursday and then had 2 extra days rest over the Eagles

With the week off now before finals an extra day or two shouldn't really have an impact either

Collingwood coming home on the red eye from Perth, vs Syd/GWS finishing at 7pm and a short 45 min flight to Melb - more like just over 1 day difference really

Well there you go, I should probably do my research before using words like never  :-[

What I should have said is the VFL wouldn't allow such a discrepancy, they didn't care about last year becuase it was SA/WA  teams :P :P :P

Yeah I'll concede, as long as one club doesn't have a 6 days break the AFL seems to be happy

Finals baby!  Although a weekend with no footy. Stupid bye.  :-[

How far can we go?  Top 2 gives us a big shot at making the GF, most likely think we'll be up against Pies then Dees.  Think we can handle the Dees this time after losing to them twice at home, but gotta make sure we put away Pies first so one week at a time as they say.  Glad I booked tickets to Melbourne months ago, fingers crossed for a good result.

I actually think we will make the GF but I can't see us beating Richmond at the G :(
