“We’ve really managed him over the last three games in terms of his ruck duties,” GWS coach Leon Cameron told Channel 7’s Talking Footy on Monday.

“On the weekend (against the Bombers) was his first real crack at playing in the ruck at that 80 per cent mark.”

Reckon there's a good chance I look to bring him in after his bye - just hope he doesn't go up too much

Interesting to see that only 3 rucks currently average over 100. In comparison, 10 forwards are averaging over 100.

Lobb would have to become one of the best rucks in the game to be worth it.

Just looking at his record as first ruck you'd have to say he's doing something right. If he stays cheap well worth a look after round 13.

He’s worth a look no doubt, but price won’t be a determining factor for me personally.

I have 3 on-field rookie spots to upgrade and my bench rookies have all made a decent amount of coin. By simply sticking to the “1 up/1 down” formula, I shouldn’t be restricted in who I choose with each of my remaining upgrades (Fritsch, Doedee & Mirra on field not the most awkward stepping stones).

Therefore, I am just aiming to get the best premiums who will average the most on the run home. If that is looking like Lobb, great. Bargain discount players don’t really provide the same advantages that they do at the start of the season though.

Everyone here's discussing Lobb as a FWD only, but I have Sam Jacobs who is clearly a must-go.
The plan was empty the war chest to get Grundy but do you think Lobb is a better choice, and use the saved coin to improve the rest of the team?

Can't believe there's 20 pages about this guy. He's injury prone, no history of scoring and a flakey player in general.
Literally wouldn't surprise me if he was dropped at any time

Who else have they got to ruck?
Dawson Simpson or Keefe who are both spuds?
If he's fit he plays imo.
Definitely injury prone, but has never been first ruck apart from 2 games last year, so that explains the lack of scoring history.

Dropped? No chance

He is their ruck for the next however many years to come

As for no scoring history, he has shown when solo ruck he can score. Sicily moved down back for about 10 games and that was enough for many of us to start him and that's worked out well (besides the suspensions lol)

Picking the right breakouts in this game can be a massive advantage, and it's almost always due to positional change which Lobb has now had

I'm not saying he is a must by any means, but if he puts up good scores over the next few weeks he has to be considered

Patton has been dropped so Lobb being dropped wouldn't surprise me at all if he has a couple of quiet games.

Sicily was based on 10 games not 2 games like Lobb. He's only had 2 good games of his 6 games this year as well so I would want to see a good 6 weeks of solid scoring to even consider. Heaps more solid forwards this year to chose from

Haha easy mistake and he should be ruck considering it was quite clear he was going to be R1 at the Giants this year after Mumford retired. But no, VirtualSports decided it was more suitable to give Matthew Flynn Ruck/Forward status at the Giants instead ::)

If he was Ruck/Forward, everyone would've started him as a bargain R2 when it was unclear who would best be paired with Gawn before the season started.

Lycett would've been an ok sideways option around the same price when Lobb went down in Round 3 as it turned out, or most would've probably gone straight up to Grundy after he started the season with a 95, 139 & 154.... What could've been eh? :o

Marstar

Too little too late for me. I have 2 spots left  to upgrade with one going to Port (Gray at this stage).  So by the end of the byes he's competing with Franklin, Menegola, Walters, Robbo etc. for that last spot.

Assuming he goes bang in the next 2 rounds b4 his bye to put his hat in the ring ... he may be the budget option ... but is he the safe bet?

Bellchambers had 3 possi game against Lobb on the weekend and tonned up.  :o SEN says CD are saying that Belly beat Lobb HTA's 19 - 3.

Yes Belly tonned up off 3 possies because he had 19 HOTA which got him 80 points (There's an article on HS about this)

Lobb still had 38 hit outs - only 3 from 38 where to advantage? Doesn't sound right although I'm sure it is if that's what they're saying

Lobb still scored 118, so if he can do that off 3 HOTA then that's pretty impressive

Would have been when Lobb/Belly went face to face. Lobb at 15 HOTA overall.
