I'm tossing up between Savage and Lloyd

Lloyd for me quite comfortably. Savage I think has outplayed himself in the JLT and will suck a few in. Lloyd on the other hand has shown over a few seasons now that he's an 85-avg at worst, with the potential to push 95/100. Taking out his 4 when he was slung last year and he averaged 92. Natural development could see 95 quite conceivably.

Someone mentioned a few days ago a stat which has put me off Lloyd. That is that he has only gone 120+ a couple of times in his career. He also didn't break the ton in the back half of last year.

I can see Savage exploding like JJ did a couple of years ago.

That's what's putting me off Lloyd a bit. Probably safer but you look at his games and he regularly gets 30 possessions for a score of like 95.

Lloyd is the epitome of a seagull and is 100% more an AF/DT player compared to SC, however, with the amount of ball he get and how well he uses it he is probably one of the higher floor options available. I've locked him in because he is under-priced due to the concussion game. I feel he can improve on where he is priced and is a safe bet to be in the 85-100 range each week

Mick Vay is Lloyd's kryptonite. Jakey isn't able to seagull to the best of his ability when Mick is up and running.

2016
Average without Mick: 92.2
Average with Mick: 82.9

2017
Average without Mick: 98.5 (excluding the 4)
Average with Mick: 84.4

Dot on. He plays more up on the wing when Macca is about, opposed to halfback when he’s not.

That's interesting I hadn't thought of that

Sicily is my pick.
Based on his scoring since his switch to defence. Watched the Hawks first JLT game and it convinced me enough.

Sicily or Vlastuin seem the pick of the bunch for mine. Hanley out for 6 weeks rules him out of my plans unfortunately.

Vlastuin once he returned in rd 17 averaged 92.3 over 10 games (including finals) with 4/10 of his scores 110+
I wouldn't rule him out as a top choice defender!

I have Vlastuin for this exact reason. His games pre injury lay-off last season he was playing as a fwd/mid which he wasn't suited to at all. Straight back into defence upon return and he pumped out these scores. I reckon he can go around 95ish this season

Any reasoning for why he could average 95ish?

As stated earlier, once he was moved down back he dominated.

who is this Mick Vay you speak of??!!  ;D

In Lloyds defense he shared the role with Mills last year, so if Mcveigh comes in it should be ok and free Mills into the mids.

Considering McVeigh will miss half the season, lock Lloyd in for a 95.35 average this year. I'll take it.

71 & 107 in the JLT.

high 70's average last year, with 3 scores under 50 (2 30's), which he shouldn't repeat now he's used to AFL level. Averaged 90.8 without those mares.

130+ ceiling when seagull is in full effect.

1.7% of teams.

Now that the forum has coined onto Savage he's come into serious consideration for me.

Will still be forced to lockdown some times and his role is always going to be unknown. No from me.
