@cpetracca7 plans on starting in the middle on Sunday.

For how long? Until round 3 when Viney is due back?
Right after everyone brings him in after he posts back-to-back tons ;)

He's going to be a superstar at some point and I think if the Dees are going to win games he is going to have to hit the scoreboard. I was chatting with my mate who's a Dees fan and he's struggling to see where they get their goals from unless their midfield start kicking them. He's the one guy that's a genuine duel threat like a Robbie Gray. I do personally think he's about 1 preseason away from tapping his potential though

There's this bloke named Jesse Hogan who should kick a few

I’m not convinced on Petracca and haven’t given him any real serious thought yet I find myself in the position of possibly getting him if Lobb is not selected and Simpson is given the nod instead.

This. Will be Lobb to Petracca if Lobb is out or Simpson plays. Luckily the both play Sunday

Agree with Matt here think he is still a season away. 21 scores below 80 from his 39 games so far and only 5 in excess of 100 one of the reasons. Could break out this year but still think the wide deviation will be there.

The issue is who supports Hogan. While Watts didn't have a great season last year they need to replace his production and I think Garlett's numbers drop a little. They need Petracca to step up to help fill the void

Tom McDonald?

ubeaut

Petracca will be needed fwd too much for me to pick him.
Smith on the other hand we need in the mids with his pace. Up forward plenty of options - Begley,Fantasia,Green,Tippa,Stringer

Tom McDonald?

The guy that's played in defense for 90% of his career? Look how well that worked with Weitering/Taylor last year.

He played forward quite a bit throughout last year and did a pretty decent job, no comparison to Weitering or Taylor.

Yep, in the weeks last year he scored goals ( obviously playing forward ) he tonned up.

Jesse Hogan missed a lot of football last year. If Pedersen and Hogan are playing forward I can't see McDonald playing a lot forward.

IMO Petracca will end up being a 80/20 mid fwd. Whether it is this year or next who knows but if Melbourne are going to be a premiership contender this year Petracca needs to become an A-Grader. As I have Melbourne in my top 4 I can see him making that leap this year. Happy to take the punt on him.
