Example of variance: The reason why a hardball get has an average of 3.5 is because it's worth 4 inside the arcs and 3 elsewhere before scaling.

Half the people who whinge and argue don't even know that a loose ball get is a contested possession.

Contested mark from opposition? Can you experts tell me what it's worth? And the variation in relation to position on the ground?
Maybe I didn't word it right. Clearances, I50s, R50s don't get direct extra points but it impacts the other points gained. An Effective Long Kick I50 or R50 is worth more than an Effective Long Kick in the middle of the ground. This shows fairly clearly in the graphic, Bont Average 2, Kennedy Average 3.3

Just because CD release something explaining the scores they aren't going to give us all of the details of how those stats are calculated. Im not going to say i know exactly how they calculate, them as i don't, but i do know it takes into account alot more stats than just the basic we see/used to see on the match centre.

I’d be surprised if they reward a kick differently depending on if their a metre inside or outside the arc, it’d more likely be if they’re under pressure, time in the game etc

Blues Blues Blues

Anyways, back to the thread title - how do we think Trac will go - is this the breakout season?

I’m very keen to take him but I feel like there’s been better risk picks in other positions. Although I do love watching him play

jfitty

I've got Smith in over him at the moment, but feel like Petracca is definitely capable of averaging around 95.

I still feel like he'll have games playing majority forward (once Viney's back in particular) so will throw in the odd 60-70. A potential upgrade target for me.

RaisyDaisy

Petracca and Smith both have high ownership

I'm hoping not having either will be a nice POD for me

I do believe they can push 90 and be good enough for F6, possibly F5 but I think there are others who can outdo them, but only time will tell

Won't surprise me if they do go 90+, but I think at this stage I'll be taking the risk by not picking either

Very fair point RD, I'm trying not to get caught up with too many popular picks myself.

Who are you starting at F3 and F4 just out of interest?

I'm looking to load up in the forwards this year with guys I think should be Top 6-8 so hoping set and forget will work. I'll look for the 400-500k value candidates in other lines

Buddy, Greene, Billings, Walters is my current 4

I know 3 of them have the same bye, but I plan on going with only 2 mids with that bye so I can get away with it

Heeney is the 5th guy still in the mix, but I just decided to bank 50k and take Walters over him instead for now, but I'm sure it will change another 50 times before Round 1 :P

Went from having both of them to neither and this is the reason.

Greene and Billings both have lower percentages and I think they will outscore them comfortably.

frenzy

Greene has done zero pre-season, did not start running til the end of Feb. Hence played 48% of JLT 2, if ever there was a player who's price dropped it'll be his. No way will I start him.

Mat0369

Add in the brain fades. He is good for a 2-3 games on the sidelines through stupidity a season.

From Melbourne FC Twitter.
“I don’t want to lose the forward side to me â€" I feel like that’s a good trait that I have, so it’ll probably be 70/30 or 60/40 mid/forward.”

@cpetracca7 plans on starting in the middle on Sunday.

That’s more time than I thought he’d get so he’s tempting again

For how long? Until round 3 when Viney is due back?
