Super X team. Update

Hi guys,

I tried picking my team differently this year. Firstly I put every mid-pricer in that I could find. Then I put in the 2 rucks that I wanted. Lastly I put in every rookie that I wanted regardless of price. I filled the team of 30 with these choices.

Then, I went through the team and traded out any mid pricer I wasn't keen on and put in a premo. Finally I went through the rookies and either traded them up to a premo or left them.

I am happy with how the team looks overall (didn't look at byes) and the biggest plus is I still have $300k!

What are your thoughts...

It's not too bad, actually. Different, but not necessarily in a bad way. Plenty of cash left over, too. I'm eyeing off Armitage.

Handball will be stuck in no mans land so I'd suggest a Simmo upgrade.

hipwood to bundy needs to happen.

Actually do not mind this team with a few changes.

Hipwood is a key forawrd and will not score well so Hipwood to Bundy Christensen is a preferred change.

Buddy is up and done and invariably you can get him cheaper during the season so I would downgrade him to Heeney/Billings/Walters or similar.

Shaw could be traded to player of similar value as with his stated role on the wing scoring may suffer.

Sicily at F3 may be a risk so with cash remaining would look at a rookie to one of those 350k - 450k forwards.

Finlayson looks like a possible must as a rookie defender this year,

That's the deepest midfield I've seen so far.

If all 6 of those DEF rookies get up, it could work but theres a couple of things I don't like about it.

1. No Laird. In basically 1/2 sides, a must have.
2. With that many mids you leave no room to bring in the likes of Kelly, Crouch etc., and may be forced to have Libba/O' Meara as your permanent M7/8.
3. If those DEF rookies get dropped/put in a bad game, could be trouble.

Personally, I'd go Libba down to Kelly/Brayshaw, Stephenson down to Garlett (bring Fritsch on the ground), then Naughton to Laird.

I am less keen on Bundy now. Looks to be carrying weight and fades out pretty quickly....and it's only JLT. Think the fast pace of the real thing might see him blow up early on in games.

Think your big risk which may or may not pay off is relying 4 defense rookies each week although you have the option of moving Sicily back.
