thoughts?? advice??

Nice Team at this stage

Couple of watch players JJ Kennedy and Sandilands with injury and Corey Ellis how long will be in Tigers Team with Riley Knight to return.
Personally would probably go with only two of  Coniglio. Redden and Armitage and bring in a forth prem defender,

Nige

Interesting team you've got. I think it might be a little too risky at this stage.

Corey Ellis is fringe at the Tiges, I wouldn't wanna be relying on him unless it looks like he's nailed a spot in the 22. That said, I'm a fan and hope he can slot in somewhere, just don't see where that would be at the moment. While rookie picks are always at this stage, Murphy and Mirra are basement price. I generally like to pick the more expensive rookies as placeholders so you can downgrade them to the cheaper ones that pop up so you know you'll bank the money when the time comes.

Hard to fault the first 4 picks in that midfield, but I reckon you're running a bit of a risk with all three of Conigs, Reddo and Armo. I'd try and go one up to a proper premo and one down to a cheaper option, potentially a rookie.

Huge gamble on the rucks. Kreuzer is at peak price I'd say and while Sandi is cheaper and always score well when he plays, it's hard to see him playing every game and getting through unscathed.

Forward line is more solid than I've seen most, but it's not a bad thing. Personally not a fan of Bud and I'd rather JJK in SC than DT, so maybe consider something like JJK -> Bundy to get some cash to help upgrade somewhere else.

That's some food for thought for ya mate.

Corey Ellis is interesting. Cheap enough but never really done anything. Choco Williams said last year he was his one to watch/breakout contender citing elite disposal & decision making. Maybe Choco was a year too early?

Peter

I agree with the writers - out with Ellis and Sandilands for a better ruck and maybe Armitage to get better cash cows

nas

Concern there with Sandi, Ellis as mentioned, maybe Armitage out, Sandi to Gawn & grab some cash cows.

No love for Armo .. gotta risk it to get the biscuit  :-X

I personally do not see Coniglio as an injury prone player and hasn't missed a beat so far in the pre season. Last year i had players for the whole year like Roughy and Nankervis, yes Conigs is not a forward, you cant always upgrade everyone. If Coniglio is sitting at M8 towards the end of the year then i don't think you are doing too badly. In a perfect world we could fill all our spots with Rooks and Premo's but that never happens. I like to have players i can rely on from week to week in terms of best 22.

I would rather have J.Lloyd a proven top 6 back for an extra 45k over McDonald.

More SC picks Bud and JJK imo ... Bud is alright i reckon but better off as an upgrade target, roller coaster.

Dump Sandi  :-X

Your actual structure for me is spot on, just need to find the best rooks that start round 1.

Christensen is worth having imo, pretty much everyone will have him so if he goes crap then it wont matter hopefully.

cheers for the advice guys, i really appreciate it.
Dropped a few guys and brang in some others... Keeping Armo/Ellis as i feel they are value picks.
dropped Sandi and Picked up Lloyd & christensen.

Pretty happy with the team structure.

Kitty - $22,600

Keeper27

with JLT done, this is my final team.
I've gone with a few Value picks to gain points for minimum cash.
Very happy with it, and still have $45.9K in the kitty
not happy with the ruck, but oh well...

DEF - 4 premo setup.
MID - running Deep with 7
RUC - standard
FWD - I've gone with more value picks, if it pays off I'll be killing it (Hopefully  :P )

Thoughts??

Personally I think it's an extremely risky side.  I don't mind a good POD here and there, but there's a reason why there's really popular premiums in each line because they always do well and if you don't have them you'll get left behind.

Your mids may seem stacked, but are they all going to average what you want them to?  Mitchell is a must, but after that I feel as though you need at least one more mega premium, if not two.

Sandi scores well when he plays, but he's not exactly young anymore and he has a history with injuries.

Devon Smith is a good pick, but at F1?  He's most peoples F3.  Caddy I got sucked into last year so be wary of him.  He looked good in pre-season last year as well.

I think a team like this there's a lot of room for things to go wrong, which is why I tend to keep my mid-pricers and value picks to a minimum.  If two, three, four or even five of these players don't do what you want them too then you're going to be spending the season chasing shadows and trying to fix up your team.  You have balls though, I'll give you that!

Ringo

Agree 100% with Chelski here.  Too much risk to start with and if they do not work out trades will be burned fixing. I count some 9 risky picks and if all work you will be fine but if only 4/5 work out you will use trades and quickly diminish.
Sorry for sounding so harsh but that is reality when starting mid pricers and untried prems such as Hall who has only played 1 full season and over the season misses an average of 4 games. Lot of money for that risk as an example.

Try to get at least 2 super premos on each line then work out rest of team.

Mat0369

Way too many mid pricers for my liking. Tabs is like 50k less than Truck, no way I'd be grabbing him at that price. I'd downgrade Tabs and on of Savage/Sicily and use the cash to upgrade to some legit premiums in the forward line and midfield.

Sandi is also an injury risk waiting to happen. I think Darcy comes in sooner rather than later.
