I’ve downgraded him to Spargo he is a better scoring option, I’d be surprised if he held his spot this week.  I hate him.

;D  This made me laugh. I did the same, although I'm not sure I hate the bloke....... just dislike his scoring at present!

Treating him like a rookie, scores like one but instead of generating cash he’s bleeding it. On this basis I’m trading him while he’s retaining some value. Watch him turn it all around now!

Pretty much my logic right now.

Got Spargo last week, so I can swing him forward and trade Billings to Mutch assuming he gets named.

Alternatively, I can probably get Ronke over Mutch.

Thinking the exact same thing

Trading this flog out for Gray before he started losing too much cash was the best move I made this season.  ;D

SilverLion

He held his spot.

Officially destined for F7 in my side.

Billings will tonne up this week and everyone that traded him out will be kicking themselves  :P

There's no amount of redemption Billings can do for me now. Those who traded a month ago are so far in front it's not even funny and are no doubt will not be kicking themselves.

St Kilda's next 5 games:

Fremantle (A)
Collingwood
Richmond
Wes Coast (A)
Sydney

Billings will be 300k by St Kilda's bye going by the way he is playing.

Its a no-brainer....if you have the luxury to hold him on your bench/loophole then ok hold him.
If you don't then its pretty simple....TRADE

Lost too much money. I'd rather upgrade a rookie than side trade a falling prem. Better to upgrade around him. If he turns it around then great, if not he goes to the bench.

7 games 74 average.

133, 80, 54, 65, 81, 47, 57.

1 great score, 3 passes (65 was off 81 dt so was inefficient) and then 3 howlers 47, 54, 57.

They won Round 1 then have lost 6 straight. Wouldn't be easy for any high half forward no matter what team you're apart of. He's a victim of a team playing shower footy. He's meant to play a high pressure role and meant to kick goals with oppo's best defender hanging off him bc he's Saints best player. If you watch, so many times they just throw him the ball and he's meant to do something amazing with it. All his touches are under sooooo much pressure and hence his low disposal efficiency. And ok yes he's kicking lots of points but once again he's a victim of a team that is mentally not good with shots on goal. And if you were picking Billings for an efficient kick at goal, don't know what you expected. Also Saints have kicked 45 goals in the last 6 games so 7.5 average. Not gonna be healthy for anyone.

It's really simple. Yes Billings isn't playing his best footy but I'd be putting it on the blokes higher up the ground for not doing their jobs properly. Saints rank last in clearanes, 13th in both inside 50's of which they're just dumb long kicks and 13th for effective disposals.

Message is pretty simple. If Saints can start to play some sort of decent football Billings will improve. I'm a Billings owner but I'm over the bashing this guy gets. Honestly it's 10% his fault and 90% the rest of the team. And as for sitting off packs, why would he be the guy going in and getting the in and under ball? He's elite on the outside not on the inside. That's why you have your grunt guys like Steven, Ross, Dunstan and Armo. They're not doing their jobs good enough for him.

It isn't that simple.

His upside is higher than Fritsch, Holman, Murray, Spargo, Higgins, ZGL (ie. rookies averaging <80), so if you are fielding any of these guys then I would move them out of your best 22 first.

Also if you already have Gray, McLean, Heeney, Sicily & Devon Smith as premiums in your side in addition to Billings, then who is actually worthy of upgrade? Plus even if you don't have Gray, his bye is in just 2 weeks.

Billings to a Robinson/Hogan type just seems a tad risky/sideways for mine.

exactly right i just went Finlayson to Crouch

I can see Crouch + Billings easily beating Fwd premo + Finlayson

Ill probably make the trade round 14 if his form hasnt turned around during the byes
