will be keeping watch on Bell JLT 2, could be an alternative to Bundy. Lots of CP's today.

I'm toying around with the idea of having both Bell and Bundy at F5 and F6

If I have to pick one I'll stick with Bundy, but with the forward rookie options looking dire we may have to go super deep
Surely at least 3 of Garlett,Fritsch,Venables,Ryan,Rioli,Keefe get a go?

Getting a go is one thing

Becoming Pickett 2.0 is another

In terms of decent scoring for a rookie, Fristch is the only forward rookie I'd be comfortable fielding for now. All the others you mentioned will likely put up 30-50 most weeks, meaning bench cover would be horrible and cash generation would suck

Bundy at F6 is probably overkill though. Bell/Bundy at F4/5 is probably more reasonable

Why pay whatever Bell costs for a donut when you can get guys for flower all instead

Surely a fit Bell is easily in Brisbane's best 22?

I wouldn't have him in my best 28. See what happens from now until R1 though i guess.

He would also need to regain the form he showed at Carlton. Hasn't been the same player since he went up to Brisbane.

Hasn't really had the opportunity with constant injury. I'll be interested to see how he goes in JLT2

I'm just looking at him as an option just in case the rookie situation looks really bad and we're forced to go deep in the forward line.

Injury whilst playing in the NEAFL because he isn't best 22?

Nige

I’d be very surprised if Brisbane awarded a spot in their 22 to a limited footballer like Bell who had one good season at a different club instead of giving it to someone on their list who is younger with scope to develop and has high potential.

The rookie situation wont even be that bad, looking fine to me, certainly not looking at guys like Bell haha :P

Hah, I just read elsewhere that he was playing NEAFL - I thought he was injured  :-[

2015 Tom Bell is Best 22 at 2018 Brisbane and it isn't even close. Though, as SL said, he hasn't been the same player in QLD. Watchlisted, but not hopeful.

What about someone like Corey Gregson or Lincoln McCarthy both @ just over 200k. Geelong is screaming out for small pressure forwards to step up, lock down a position and show some consistency.

Nige

Gregson's been sidelined with a footy injury since late 2016, didn't play a game last year. Averaged 54 in the games he's played, too much risk for too little reward. If he even gets a game, it's a Jimmy Parsons slow burn but you're paying nearly 100k more. That said, Gregson is a better player than Parsons.

Linc's managed 27 games in 6 season because of injuries. Foot, hip, groin and back injuries amongst. I'm a huge fan but he's gotta regain his spot in the 22, not get injured and show better scoring output. Best season was 2016 with 17 games at 54. That's a big gamble for 236k.

Why the confidence in Fristch? I don't really see him any different that guys like Ryan and Venables.
