Hi Guys,

I hope you are all well! I have usually focussed on AF and DT whereas this season I am moving purely to SC and therefore would love some advise!

My current team:

I have $106,600 to play with but would like around this amount of spare cash at the start of the season

Thanks heaps guys!

Greene broke a toe around Xmas, so missed a big chunk of preseason and he's also a hot head. I would look at Dahl/Walters.
Also I would downgrade Jagaer to another rookie and upgrade Lycett to Jacob/Goldy. What was your intensions with Lycett, keep? or upgrade to Ryder rnd 11 ?

If Greene lines up round 1 I think he is as good a pick as any, However I agree that Lycett needs to be changed as he could be dropped at any week.

Cripps in the Mids is almost the same $. He's touted to go 110, Greene won't get near that.

I was planning to use Lycett and trade to Ryder after the bye. Maybe better to set and forget the rucks.

Thanks all for the advice.

How does this look, Is there any reason people seem to be overlooking Kreuzer? Also, Dixon seems a good POD?

Kreuzer seems to be over priced however is not a bad selection at all.

Really like this team a lot apart from the Dixon selection. Change him to next favourite premium forward as he has the round 10 bye and will no doubt drop in price as a KPF.

Thanks mate, I am really struggling with forward options, I can afford anyone if I take Dixon out but not sure who to go?

Buddy, Menegola? I am not sold on Walters myself.

Thanks for the advice tho champ!

Ringo

Nice team with some pods there. Agree on Dixon to go because of byes,

Forwards appear to be the hardest line to settle on this year, Menengola how will Ablett effect him, and Buddy is always a rollercoaster and is being managed in his off season.

So there are a number to consider if you want to spend on prems then Look at Greene but be prepared and hope he behaves. Watch the role of Dahlhaus and McLean in JLT and see which one gets more mid time. Devon Smith at a new club may be worth a look and one down a bit could be Petracca who could break out further. Would also look at a Def/Fwd rookie eg Keeffe who is playing so you can swing Sicily down if you have good defenders up back.

As a Lions supporter and as much as I love Dan Rich think a big risk there.  Finished last season with a 102 average from lat 8 games and if that form continues could be a great pick but as we know really finds it hard when tagged. Will teams let him off the leash this year is the question given Brisbanes improved mid field resources.

As I said nice team and go with gut on any selections you have doubts over.

Thank you for the feedback mate. Much appreciated

Hi Guys,

So I have made a few changes after reading the feedback. See my updated team below. Thoughts on Rich vs Simpson?

I have 20,500 left which I would prefer more if possible.

Thanks again :)

Definitely Simmo I reckon, 9 straight years of 90+ and barely misses a game, so despite his age, he's much safer than Rich.

Simmo definitely. Better bye and averaged 90+ the last decade.

With Hodgey finally wearing the right jumper I don't see the room in the Lions back line for 2 generals.  With Rocky leaving and Witherdon providing the required run out of the backline, I expect Rich to move back into the centre.  I know there are a few putting up their hands to fill Rocky's boots, but I feel that Rich is the likely candidate.  Regarding the tagging issue: with Rich an active mid, I don't see him being tagged as heavily - as it will mean others like Beams, Zorko, Lewis and Witherdon will go unchecked.  My 2 cents anyway.

I was feeling the same way, I have a really good gut feeling about Rich this year. Maybe I should just back my gut in!
