Been lurking around here for a while absorbing all that I can and figured it'd be a good time to get some feedback on what my team's looking like for 2018 rather just looking at all yours.

DEF: Laird and Hibberd as obvious premos with Crisp as someone who I believe will score consistent 90s (see his average of 90.8 since he moved to half back post-bye last year). Has played 3 full seasons since arriving at Collingwood and will fill a D5/6 spot end of year. light on for rookies back here potentially, may have to change it up based on JLT games.

MID: 4 Mega premos in Danger/Titch/Crouch/Fyfe and 2 slightly fallen premos. Treloar's stats didnt drop off except shower kicking last year despite his points dropping and I fully expect a change in coaching structure's to increase his scoring back to where it used to be around 110. Rockliff is Rockliff and at that price I don't want to risk him scoring 200 in rd 3 and missing out.

RUCK: Standard sauce/gawn.

FWD: Heeney because he'll be the best fwd this year. Walters because I think the dockers need him playing midfield minutes and he's shown he can score prolifically when he does play midfield. I anticipate his scores to fluctuate a bit but should be worth the risk considering the forward options. Sicily I'm gambling on playing the same role in the backline as last year but not 100% confident. Could become Lobb depending on fitness.

Good team, agree with most of the selections except for Rocky, role unknown at this stage and could frustrate with time spent up forward. You've got plenty of spare change there, I'd consider Rocky to Coniglio & O'Shea up to an underpriced defender.

Agree with Rocky not being the wisest selection at this stage with a role change and the fact that he has the round 10 bye. Coniglio is the obvious choice for this team as it allows you to get a mid pricer in your defence so you aren't relying on O'shea at D4

There's not many defence mid-pricer's I'm really considering is all. Brayshaw looks to be the only one that appeals under 400k - and I don't have enough cash from just Rocky > Coniglio to go over 400k.

Was also considering Cripps in place of Rocky but that would leave the structure the same across the rest of the team.

LDU down to Bailey might get you in the 400k range.

A few revisions made here and there and a lot less cash in the bank.

Still tempted by Cripps but see Treloar as a similar option with POD value.

Worried by Heeney and have been looking at Greene and Buddy in the F1 slot but none look right. Unsure what I'll do if Heeney struggles in JLT2 as well.

I feel like a lot of people are putting there seasons at jeopardy with a rookie at D4. Say there are 5-6 playing rookies come round 1 and you pick all 5 of them and then two of them get dropped you could be forced to have players on the bench making no money at all. Although a lot of people seem to be doing it so I can't really fault your selection.

Not sure if I trust Crisp as a top 10 defender and you could be stuck in no mans land if he averages 80-85.

Apart from that I can't really fault your team.

Yeah have decided that Keefe is a must if I'm putting Sicily in the forwards so that I open up the Def/Fwd swing since rookies look a bit slim. Currently have more faith in the defensive rookies than forwards so thats why he's starting up forward.

Crisp is one I feel confident on being able to be M6 and play every game. Has good reliability and since moving to the backline averaged 90 in 10 games last year. Low of 65 and high of 129 but 6 of the 10 games were between 85-100 which is exactly what I'm looking for from him.

Team looks fine, you might want to think about alternatives if the forward rookies don't materialise.

Update post Danger's injury:

Still planning to take Dangerfield if he's playing round 1. Plan is to start Kelly with the cash to reach Danger if need be and since they're both Sunday games I should know if he's going to play or not.

If Lobb looks unlikely then I will go Martin down to Jacobs and Lobb up to Smith. Should be much the same outcome I expect in terms of points scored, I just think Lobb has better prospects if fit.

Coffield is an expensive bench rookie, but I don't see any more cheap DEF rookies I trust. If some emerge then I might trade him out and could then go Lobb -> Smith anyway.

Unfortunately, the GWS game starts over 2 hours before the Geelong one, so we won't have exact confirmation as to whether Dangerfield is a late out by the time Kelly locks.

Word I heard was that Simpson is likely to play alongside Lobb, that will hurt his scoring potential.

I think that if Danger is named you start him and just cop it if he is a late out as many people will be in the same boat. Lobb in my opinion will be a good pick but only if Simpson isnt in the side.

Really like this team though as there are some nice pods across every line that have a genuine chance of being top 10 in there position.

It may in the short term but Lobb will be sole ruck eventually. Can see Simpson playing a minor role when the dust settles.

Four rounds in Duffer's Duds now looks like this:

Only changes from the original team were Keefe -> Garlett and Coffield -> Murphy.

Trades so far:

Round 3: Hibberd -> Lloyd
              Brayshaw -> Taranto

Round 4: Lobb -> Ryan
              Ryan -> Henry

Thinking no trades this week then double down next week?

Sitting at 15k overall and would like to improve scoring asap but think I have to generate cash first.

Murphy or Barry to Coffield imo. Increases cash generation and gives you a rookie with solid JS.
