Guaranteed to struggle for an admirer  ??? but this is my team thus far.

BACKS;
Laird     Hibbo     Lmac                       Coffield
Heater   Sic         Doedee                    Mirra
MIDS;
Danger     Titchell                               Higgins
Conigs     A.Brayshaw     Dow              O'Brien
Stephenson    Bailey       Kelly              Worpel
RUCKS;
Goldy     Gawn                                    Olango
FWDS;
Billings     Dahl     McLean                    Crowden
Tmac        Jack     Deledio                     Garlett

Don't wanna bore you with a massive write up, but I see the 2017 Draft as a gun midfielders draft. Hopefully I can un-earth 4-5  rookies that'll be the 70 point plus types. The SP-S's and the SP-P types of last season.
Last season I got caught after round one with the cheap useless rookies in the Def and Fwd lines. I think 3 or 4 of them got dropped for round 2 (there was 3 at Norf) and the others were Pickett types that made no cash all year. Determined to not let happen again this season. So I'm loading up on the expensive MID types, cos that's where I see the guns coming from.

A penny for your thoughts.

GoLions

Not sure if you can go with less than 4 premo mids tbh, would try to get a 4th top mid in there. Should be able to do that and still bat deep in all other lines i reckon.

Extra points for using the word 'perusal' though.

My thoughts are where are your mid guns I had to look 3 times to make sure I reading it properly  :P Guaranteed to fail me thinks  ;)

I like the idea, but if you're loading up fwd and back you could do better than Shaw,Sicily,LMac,TMac,Jack and Lids.
I'd look at Hurley/Yeo and Heeney at least.
You might miss a few decent rookies esp. up fwd. I'd at least get another premo mid.
Jack > Heeney
Lids > Bundy
Rookie mid > premo
T Mac > Rookie
And least favourite of Shaw/Sicily/LMac > Hurley is what I'd suggest.

Hi bud, I don't think your team is gonna work.  You've selected some really marginal Def/Fwd players who won't reach the top 6 of their respective positions, and probably won't make much money either.  Your midfield is flimsy, IMO you need 5-6 premium midfielders.  You need to start w/ about 12-14 premiums (proper premiums not nearly premiums).  Hope this helps.

thanks for the quick reply, I taken it onboard and shuffled the suggestions around and basically for one extra DEF rookie and one extra FWD rookie came up with this puppy. Think it's starting to take shape. Thanks again.

This draft class is really strong! Not sure a lot of them will get the role to out cash cow some of the basement priced guys.

Id only propose a couple of changes...
Heeney --> Fritsch : Not trusting Heeney enough to play 22 games given he isn't back to a full load.
Stephenson --> W.Rioli : Would predict they'll score similarly, Stephenson will need a lot of contested possessions to average 60-65
Garlett --> Brodie : MY BIG CALL - "Will Brodie will be the top scorer under 200k" plus when i think garlett i think picket 2017 :(
A.Brayshaw --> M.Crouch/Kelly/Pendles/Merrett in that order : He's strong, but he looks slow up stairs and with his leg speed.

thanks bud, I took this on and didn't even have to touch the Mid rookies, just move one Fwd and change a couple on the pine.

Thats exactly what I 'm trying to avoid with the cheap go nowhere types. Introducing another one in Fritsch maybe heading down that same route. Anyhow I had a play around and came up with this. It's heading back towards the classic cookie cutter and rnd 13 bye will need work, but here goes.

So basically it's        Heeney vs Cripps
                          Brayshaw vs Brodie
                              Garlett vs Fritsch

Backs;
Hurl    Yeo    Laird                            Keeffe
Hibbo Cumming Doedee                    Mirra

Mids;
Danger Titchell                                 Brodie
Fyfe  Cripps  Conig                           Crowden
Dow  Bailey  T. Kelly                         Worpel

Rucks;
Goldy Gawn                                     Olango

Fwds;
Billings  Dahl  McLean                      Starcevich
Bundy  Stephenson  Fritsch              Ballenden

Money Shot

Your most recent team is definitely your best one yet. Still slightly weaker than most teams in the mids but make up for it with a really strong backline.

Having the four most expensive defenders from round 1 is definitely something that I wouldn't do purely because it is very unlikely that all of them will be top 4 come seasons end, however I can't find any defenders that I think are likely to them at this stage so it is money well spent.

My other slight concern is having Dahl and McLean in the same team, haven't really looked into it but didn't McLean take Dahlhaus' role last season which saw McLean's score sky rocket and Dahl's fall dramatically?

Bully

Isn't Yeo suffering from a hip injury?

Agh thanks Bully, I hadn't heard that. Actually wondered why I hadn't heard much about him lately or seen him in many teams, so now I know. I have swapped him out for Hanley today along with others.

Yep, should be right for round 1 but with Laird/Hibberd having a full preseason you have to put them ahead of Yeo.

The JLT and season proper can't come fast enough, because I'm making too many changes for the hell of it now.

Need to update todays changes, but given Yeo and others the Kyber. Really not happy ATM with FWD and DEF Rooks, they worry me. So I'm working on the more expensive types again. Think I'm more happy to start the Brodie, LDU and Brayshaws in the MIDS over the Cummings, Garlett and Mirra types this season. But my plan could backfire, yes I know.

Was it more a team thing? Premiership Hangover? The Bont fell away also.
