Back after a fair hiatus, made the most of the summer... But time to get serious again  ;)

Defence: Laird, Hibberd, Lloyd, Sicily, Coffield, Doedee (Murray, Mirra)
Midfield: Dangerfield, Mitchell, Kelly, Fyfe, An. Brayshaw, Davies-Uniacke, Brodie, T.Kelly (Fogarty, Barry, Holman)
Rucks: Grundy, Gawn (Olango)
Forwards: Dahlhaus, J.Cameron, Walters, D.Smith, Christensen, Ah Chee (Ahern, Rioli)

Salary $23,600

Different structure to most, probably one short in the midfield along with a few biases towards players. Have tried to stay away from players who have had even partially interrupted preseasons.

Ringo

Nice Team to sit on if happy with the structure,

Most teams are batting at least 5 deep in mids so you may be behind there.

Like the Walters pick and just realised although at a new ground Freo have 7 of the first 12 at home.

I would just do this adjustment one of Cameron or Smith to Keeffe/ Ballandeen or other rookie with D/F DPP to allow interchange with Sicily. Then upgrade in Mids to a mid you can afford.

Cheers Ringo, you're right and it'll definitely  be the one structural change I'll considering. At the moment i want to see the likes of Ahern, Rioli, Venables, Ryan, Dawson in JLT to see their scoring ability against Brodie, LDU, Brayshaw etc... Will ultimately decide how many forward rookies i'll field.

Bit of a change up...

DEF: Laird, Hibberd, Lloyd, Sicily, Doedee, Cumming (Murray, Mirra)

RUC: Kreuzer, Gawn (Olango)
FWD: Dahlhaus, Walters, D.Smith, Christensen, B.Ah Chee, W.Rioli (Ahern, Fritsch)

Salary: $36,600

Changes were:
Coffield --> Cumming
Brayshaw --> M.Crouch
LDU --> Worpel
Grundy --> Kreuzer
Cameron --> Fritsch

Welcome back FT.

I really like this team and think it is well balanced across all lines.

Laird/Hibberd are a good chance of being the 1/2 ranked defenders come seasons end and Lloyd is underpriced due to his injury game and looks the goods for a 90-95 average in my opinion so by no means a bad pick. Silicy also looks like a good pick assuming he is playing in the backline which is looking likely.

Love the midfield.

Gawn is a lock but think that Kreuzer might be slightly over priced and think Gibbs leaving could hurt him a bit. Jacobs for 100k cheaper looks like a safe option.

Going cheap in the forward line sounds smart this year and think your first 3 picks are a good a chance as any to finish in that top 5-10 range. Bundy is looking like a really good pick also.

Think you could go Kreuzer to Jacobs and then use the 150k left over too upgrade other lines. Apart from that it is a really good side.

Cheers for giving it a look MS. Kreuzer had a couple of injury effected games and shared ruck duties early last year. From memory had ruck to himself after or at the Sydney game either way went 115+ from there, main concern would be injury but he's played 21 games the last 2 years. Not sure which ruckmen have the ability to go 105+ Goldy probably be the only other..?
Hypothetically with the 100k what could i do?

Kreuzer to Goldy and Smith to Heeney/Billings is something I would consider. But by no means is Kreuzer a bad pick and starting him could work out very well for you.

Regarding D.Smith, see many parallels with Josh Caddy from last year, new club and a supposed guarantee of midfield minutes. Not convinced that will happen.

Huttabito

If you can make it work with Kreuzer I say go for it, nice bye and is due for a run of good luck.

I'm not sold on Lloyd - he went 92, 100 and 99 the 3 weeks after the concussion (Rd12-14) so it looks like he wasn't affected greatly. McVeigh then returned Rd15 and he averaged 81 thereafter. If McVeigh were to injure himself between now and Rd1, Lloyd would be an absolute lock but a wait and see in my books - won't hurt at the price he is to wait.

Very true, but even as a forward smith averaged 90 and 87. Caddy went 93 as a mid in his best year... I think even as a forward i feel he can 90+ where he has more opportunity, midfield time would be an added bonus!

Yeah Kreuzer would have to be the downgrade to upgrade both Lloyd and smith.
Main hope with Lloyd is that something similar to GWS will happen at Sydney where there's a changing of the guard; Shaw to Williams and now McVeigh to Lloyd.

fasttrack13

Latest Team... Maybe a bit reactive, and have been convinced by a couple of players too!

DEF: Yeo, Laird, Shaw, C.Ellis, Coffield, Doedee (Finlayson, Mirra)
MID: Dangerfield, J.Kelly, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, Brayshaw, Dow, Brodie (Barry, Worpel, T.Kelly)
RUC: Kreuzer, Gawn (Olango)
FWD: Billings, J.Cameron, Walters, Smith, Christensen, Keefe (Ryan, Fritsch)

Salary $29,800

I'm reasonably happy down back, Locked in the rucks.
My hand has been forced a bit in the forward line. Seems like fielding 1 rookie will have to be the way to go and so i've had to withdraw as much funds from the midfield without depleting it's depth.

ubeaut

Don't mind this team. Some nice potential PODs.
Yeo - like others I feel is overpriced and there is uncertainty over role BUT could still be top 6 fwd definitely top 10.
Kelly - is a gun haven't seen in many teams. Has a few to share points with Coniglio fit but should be enough points in a top team to go round.
Kreuzer - like it. Only 7% teams if he stays fit can't see why he can't be top 3 ruck.
Walters - in my team huge upside even if only 50% midtime. Another JLT and I feel he will much less of a POD!
Cameron - I think is the player I would consider dropping to Stephenson if named. I agree fwd rookies are looking scarce but I feel u could turn Dow/Brodie into a Premium mid and team would be nicely balanced.

Money Shot

Cameron too Stephenson
Dow too Holman
Brayshaw too premium

is what i would do. like everything else about this team.

Ringo

Cheers for all the feedback on my teams, found something i'm happy to sit on till round 1 teams.

DEF: E.Yeo, R.Laird, H.Shaw, N.Coffield, T.Doedee, J.Finlayson (B.Mihocek, L.Murphy)
MID: P.Dangerfield, J.Kelly, L.Neale, N.Fyfe, P.Cripps, An.Brayshaw, D.Barry, T.Kelly (B.Banfield, C.Constable, N.Holman)
RUC: M.Kreuzer, M.Gawn (D.Cameron)
FWD: J.Billings, L.Dahlhaus, M.Walters, D.Smith, J.Sicily, B.Fritsch (Z.Giles-Langdon, J.Garlett)

Salary: $5,600

Only concern is that i'm lacking POD's...
Cameron v Dahlhaus is Probably the last spot at this stage.

I really like Cameron...
Last 3 years I've had massive gut feelings with:
2015: MacMillan (88) - DEF
2016: Merrett (111) - FWD
2017: J.Kelly (114) - MID
Not one year have i started with them...  >:(
