Its better then not having it but playing a forward or back over a mid isnt actually an advantage it just stops people falling behind alot.

We all know mids smash it in DT, but mids kill a zero.

I kinda feel all out attack/defence is an advantage as a forward or defender is often superior thrn playing a forward defender.however playing a ruck fwd def over a mid almist always inferior its more a desperation play.

Im all good if people want it as a card though.

Swanny's Rat Pack! He's become even more of a rat this offseason.

Even bigger and better overhead committee this year!

So is anything happening with this?

looking at fielding a donut at M3 with multiple defenders and forwards on the bench

The rules aren't being changed after the season has started.

I've got 5 players for Round 1, I'm sucking it up.

shower happens, life goes on.

The season hasn't started and it was changed last year.

At the worst we will have those bronze cards.

To be clear, it was tested, not changed last season. After the byes we reverted to the previous naming format.
I haven't come to a complete decision, but at the moment I am leaning towards something like this:
- First 3 rounds using the utility 2-2-1-2-1
- Round 4-7 (approx) using 2-3-1-3
- Round 8-11 (approx) using 3-4-1-3
- Byes (Round 12-14) using utility 3-3-1-3-1
- Remainder of the season (Round 15-23) using 3-4-1-3

Thoughts? Is this overcomplicating things too much?

that makes a heap of sense to me.

Dont feel its too complicated at all as most weeks there is some special twist with golf, bronze week etc...

I think the current format listed is fair. It’s like that for everyone, luck plays a big part early on anyway.

Plus bit rich that the guy who packed extra players to the rest of us is complaining about Round 1.

Alright, here's the fixture for the season ahead.

I may make small changes as we get closer to the season (such as adding Indigenous Round Mini Game etc.)

Anyway, it's also here for convenience:

As always, let me know what you think, propose changes if necessary and ask questions if unsure.
Basically, a few of the weeks that have featured in the Main Fixture previously (eg. Golf Week) have now shifted to Mini Games. This means we have more standard namings than usual, however, the prizes for Golf Week will be closer to a normal week's winnings than other Mini Games. Additionally, Mini Games such as Golf Week, Chemistry Week and Rarity Week will still use your own cards! So be wary not to trade in everything that could be of use.

PowerBug

Do we newbies get the mini-games and different weeks explained to us beforehand so we know what "could be of use"?

Yes. I'll explain the special weeks now, Mini Game rules will be as posted at the time (they do not affect card retention)

Okay so,

Bronze Week - participants name their team entirely from bronze cards that they have. Any position that cannot be filled by a bronze player is just a donut. Aiming for the highest score possible.

Head to Head - stock standard H2H, like SuperCoach. A pair of coaches are put against each other aiming to simply outscore the other. The person who gets the 'W' will receive more weekly gold than their opponent.

Silver Week - same as bronze week, but participants can name only the silver cards that they have.

Gold Week - same as bronze and silver week, but as you may guess, participants can name only gold cards that they have.

Golf Week - naming a full side and aiming to score as low as possible. Any position you cannot fill becomes a 100 point score. The person who receives the most gold this week will be the one who names the lowest scoring side.

Pick a Spud - does not use your own cards

Jumperology - does not use your own cards

Categorisation - does not use your own cards

Team Chemistry Week - players from the same AFL club get a % bonus to their score. For example, naming Jarryd Lyons and Aaron Hall would receive a 5% bonus to each player's score. More players from the same club results in a bigger % bonus. For example, naming Tom Bell, Dayne Beams, Dayne Zorko, Rhys Mathieson and Alex Witherden would receive a 25% bonus to each score. % Bonuses to be considered a guide only.

Rarity Week - Platinum cards named get a 0% bonus, Gold cards named get a 5% bonus, Silver cards get a 15% bonus and Bronze cards named get a 25% bonus. Again, bonuses are TBC and should be considered a guide only.

Round One run and won, here's a little something worth knowing from the pack thread,

Quote from: fanTCfool on March 26, 2018, 12:20:17 AM
Flagging this briefly before I begin packs in case it changes anyone's tactics or decisions.
The Fragment Pack is now available, and the price has been lowered from 70G to 55G.

In addition to this, the auction house kicks off this week! Auction(s) will be posted tomorrow afternoon/evening and will end at a random time on Thursday.

There'll be another Mini Game this week, so keep your eyes on the Mini Games board for that.

fanTCfool

As per the pack opening thread, the price of the Gold Pack has been lifted by 10G to 45G.
Additionally, confirming that the exchange price for bronze cards has now lowered to 2G from 3G as scheduled.

There are no further planned price changes, so coaches can reasonably expect these to remain unchanged from this point.

Can anyone shed some light on Joshua Jaksa?

I swear ive heard the name before I draft discusions, but I cannot find any shred of evidence on him. Cannot find him on any club list, isn't in any of the fantasy games, nor rookie or draft lists.

I really hope FTC hasn't given me a player that doesn't officially exist on a list.

He's listed on the Gold Coast Rookie List and exists on RDT as a 154k defender.

Yeah I found him after I posted it. Was searching for Josh Jaksa not Joshua
