From round 7, 2016 to round 6, 2017 Bont averaged 122. That's over 26 matches so as good as a full season (including finals). You'd be hard pressed to find anyone else apart from Danger who could churn out those numbers.
Then the wheels fell off and he punched out a lot of average scores I did have him in to start but would rather pay some more for a gun and see what he does maybe an upgrade

Plenty of players go through form slumps, good ones usually bounce back. The fact that Bont didn't average 122 in a calender year is the only thing that's creating the illusion that he can't be consistent. Fact is he strung together 26 very high calibre games and collected a premiership in the middle of all that. If anything I reckon he can go higher, few other players can gather 22-23 disposals and score 130s & 140s. Massive ceiling if he hits 30 touches a game.

^^ Why he's in my side. Hes one of those players that pisses you off when you opponent has him and he bangs out a 140 from 22 disposals. Rather that be on my team then it pissing me off the other way

Haha yep it frustrated me so much last year. But then I got him in and he started scoring 80s..
I'll wait and see how he looks

Ricochet

Want to see how they use him with Stringer gone

Nige

He's been in and out of my side all pre-season but I'm cooling a bit. CD seems to froth him though so I can't really see him being a bad pick, just feel there's better options for me and my side.

tkringle

It’s between him and Pendles for me at M4 atm.

Hopefully JLT will shed some light on where Pendles will play

TBH prefer Macrae from the dogs

You can add me to the M4 Pendles/Bont dilemma group too.

Macrae safer, but a lot more reward on offer if you go with Bont

Macrae started showing he could score big at the end of last year with a 160 and 140 score. Plus wont get the tag unlike Bont

Agreed. Thinking its similar to the Crouch vs. Sloane debate.

To me there's no debate when it comes to Crouch v Sloane for our starting sides.

Sloane averaged 110.2 last season yet he did not score between 93 and 118 for the entire season.

With that sort of standard deviation, starting without Sloane is a no brainer.

Good stat Ben, be interesting to see who cops the tag now with Gibbs in the side. One suspects if Sloane is off the leash he could nudge 120.

LordSneeze

My crouch writeup will be up in the next day. Some people might be very surprised by the reasoning for his scoring and whether it is going to be maintainable is anyone's guess, but I will not be starting Crouch.

StuL

Had him last year but there's too much juicy goodness at discounted prices like Pendles, Heppell, Hanners, Cripps who I would look at first.
