Thoughts on Lloyd? To me, he seems like he could potentially be a top 5 defender this season.

Super consistent, but his bye is really turning me off, and although he should go 80+ most weeks he doesn't really have that ceiling that other defenders have

Still on my radar though

Had to rack up 28 disposals per game for his (uninjured) 91 average, can't see him getting better than he already is. He also averaged 79.6 from Rd 15 onwards when McVeigh came back into the side.

Was reasonably happy with him as a starting pick last year, but will be steering clear this year.

He might be one to finish off your team as a D5/6 type but he's not one to start IMO.
As RD said, his bye is a big problem. R14 has the best mids on offer. Billings is arguably the best forward pick, Laird is the best defensive pick and by the time you throw in one or more others with rookies on top you're toast. I suppose if you are only going for a league win, not overall, it's not so bad as it's just the one round.
I would be very surprised if he was a top 5 defender as to date he hasn't pumped out real big scores, a handful or two of just 100s. 85-92 ave I reckon.

Get the rejuvenated McVeigh instead. Good ball use never goes out of fashion.

Scores of 119, 71, 85, 89, 94, 90, 80, 130 & 173 so far this season. Will he finish the year as a Top 6 defender?

Still only 511k, but is set to skyrocket in price with a breakeven of 6 off the back of his 130 & 173. Also has Brisbane next weekend.

Another good score and he may be out of reach for awhile. Do non-owners need to jump on now to avoid missing another Macrae situation?

Will never score like that again but still a decent option. Not excessively priced.

Another player with the dreaded Rd 14 bye making it a little difficult.

don't think it'll be the same situation as Macrae - sure he'll do well but don't think he's a can't miss right now ... there's still a bit of downside risk ...

unfortunately had the pick between him and Yeo and you can guess where I went - then Yeo left the field, but came back for over a ton, so all's fine ...  ;)

I picked Yeo as I still think he'll outscore Lloyd for the rest of the journey despite his yo-yo (pun intended) scoring and I do think that Yeo will have his poor scores so might pick him up later ...

Probably 1 of the picks I got right at the start of the year.

If it suits your bye structure you probably need to look to bring him in this week.

I'm bringing him in.

Playing Murray at D6 is killing me!  :(

Unless you already have Savage/Webster, then I don’t see the problem with his bye. You could quite easily sit him on the bench with Laird in R14 and not cop any donuts (assuming you’ve moved Doedee, Duman & Murphy on by then - which is likely)

It is just the cumulative effect when added with mid and forwards who have the Rd 14 bye as well.
