Gus is priced at 57.6. He would need to average 87.6 to make the same amount of cash as a 123k player who averages 52.5.

Definitely capable and with the dire rookie situation down back (I don't see a single sub-200k player that is a Rd 1 lock) you'd probably take a Zak Jones type season (who went 56.2 > 83.1 and was a solid D6 until upgraded).

I don't think 87.6 is an unreasonable target for Gus. Assuming he plays in the midfield I can't see why he wouldn't score 85-90 and be a decent D6 keeper for most of the season (if not all the season)

If 5+ rookies get up round 1 in the defence I will be inclined to drop him to a rookie and upgrade Christensen to Lobb and a 123k mid too someone like a Brayshaw or Rayner but for now he stays.

Yeah he just has too much risk and the reward (best case scenario) isn't enough to justify the risk

As shaker has said the mid range defenders have really burnt me in the past unless it was a premo coming back from injury. Ill only pick Angus if there is a sever lack of defenders and im forced to make him D5

Personally feel like there is so much mid range value this season that just can’t be overlooked and angus is my d5 currently

I never learn (looking at you Thurlow), so will probably have a mid pricer or two in D. Feel like it's the spot for it, with the Fwds this year. Blame me when it goes pear shaped ;D
