Jaidyn Stephenson is the bloke I ranked at 2 in the draft so no complaints there, could feasibly hold down an on field role. Brayshaw I would ditch, coach has said he'll be playing in defence this year as the midfield has been the source of his concussion. Would consider using that money to get O'Meara up to a mid. Cripps one to consider given his price. Rookies look good, LDU not a certain starter yet, but there's plenty others in that range.

why not use brayshaw to bolster that forwardline?

He might be a little bit outside but his stats in the TAC showed plenty of inside grunt, was running at 49% contested. He's also a line breaker & goal kicker so should pick up some points there. Wouldn't pick him as a mid but in the forwards he's not a bad option. Guys like Ahern, Garlett, Rioli, Ryan, Venables & Keeffe are really only bench options. Could roll the dice on 1 onfield position but 2 seems highly risky.

I’m 5050 on LDU to this point. I always pay for job security. Obviously won’t be picked if mid rookies line up round 1. Dom Barry could replace him otherwise swing Garlett to mids and pick Liam Ryan and fritsch to replace ahern and LDU

Nice team to sit and await the naming of teams and see which rookies get named. As you know preseason form for rookies not always true to form. A certain Shai Bolton from last year springs to mind.

Post jlt things have had to change. Gotta go for a deeper side sacrificing some players for greater depth. This is what I have come up with.

No 500k+ boys - with exception of laird I think they all overpriced and have doubts due to changes in team dynamics. Time will tell.
Weitering looked amazing in jlt. Someone has to take over some quarterback docherty duties but this bloke can also mark a ball. Think he is underpriced for his potential - risk reward pick.

Conigs imo is way underpriced.
Libba looks so fit to me I’m expecting him to have career numbers.

Sandilands massive preseason ticked boxes through preseason and alternatives don’t thrill me. Favourable 10 round draw before I’ll switch to Ryder.
No cover with Cameron even though can afford him.

Forwards
Heeney billings think they a top 6 forwArd and in a horrible forward line wanted solidarity from get go.
Sicily I’m Not sure why people are jumping off.
Lobb if named round 1 has to be picked imo if not have the funds for petracca.
Christo is a lock given forward line is so bare.
I not convinced fritsch is on field worthy.

Bit different structure for me this year but this is not a normal year imo.

Thoughts

If Sicily,Weitering,Libba,Lobb and Sandi all fire you're laughing.
However may be a risky pick or two too many.
I get the deep fwd line with little joy from rookie options, but hopefully one or two more will be named and I think Bundy at F6 is one too deep. It comprises other lines and leaving all of Yeo,Hurley,Laird,Hibberd is a big call. If u think Laird is most likely out of those I'd try to fit him in.
Overall I like the PODs and this team has loads of potential. I'd just try downsizing fwd line somewhere, get Laird and turn one of Cripps/Conigs/Libba into a super premo as all three is one too many. I think that would be more balanced. Just my opinion of course.

[Money Shot]

In regards to Weitering I see an 80-85 average which does make him underpriced but think we will still get a couple of 60-70 games as Marchbank and Weitering will share a lot of points. It is one of those things that if he is averaging 80 you probably won't trade him but he won't be keeping up with the top 10 defenders who are all scoring 90+ or there abouts. Savage and Lloyd both have upside so can't fault those picks.

Really like the midfield as you have 3 captain choices and 3 guys who should go 105+ from the get go. Brayshaw and Brodie should also make money quick and then you will be laughing.

I like many others have had Sandi in seasons gone by and really like him as a pick. Should score 90+ easily when fit and there isn't much other players on offer.

Heeney and Billings should be 1 and 2 come seasons end and Smith seems to be getting a lot of midfield minutes. Sicily looks value and with his DPP it makes him a really good pick, I think you should try and get someone like Keefe in just for added flexibility. Lobb I will start if he is named round 1 but at this stage I am doubtful. Bundy will be good for a 70+ average so lock him in.
