If Murphy isn't playing maybe get rid of him instead of Doedee and just forfeit the cash in the bank?

Haven't discounted trading Murphy but need to trade Doedee to get Simmo. At some stage I'll look at getting Redman up to a mid priced defender.

Byes now done & dusted & have just about reached my post bye target of a 5000 ranking (5,362). Things haven't gone exactly to plan, was hoping to have Rocky as my M9 but to do that I'll need to compromise on my finishing midfield, all things considered I think I need some sort of elite POD & the obvious choice is Kelly. With a BE of 55 & a seemingly fit body it's now or never, this is my finishing team so to have another potential Macrae situation (only 11% ownership) I would hope that such a move pushes me into the top 1000.

3 trades now remaining & some vulnerability in the ruck & defensive benches. Will be crossing my fingers & toes that Goldy plays out the season, would hate to be in the situation of a forced donut or a forced trade. With very little cash in the bank I may have to cull one more rookie, which would leave me with 1 solitary trade left in the bank. With any luck I can get through the next month unscathed.

The Redman news really puts a spanner in the works, think I need to think about upgrading Murphy to Webster in due course. Will be down to 1 trade after that.

I am not sure I would use a trade just for cover with only 2 trades remaining.

At this stage I'll just wait for 1 of my top 6 defenders to get injured or suspended before making a move. Might be best to just sideways trade from here. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen for a few weeks. Might even get lucky if a Witherden type pops up in the run home.

So a pretty disappointing 2 weeks in which I cannot seem to make any ground, still hovering around the 5000 mark which is frustrating in the extreme. The goal here is top 1000 and anything less will be a wasted season. So with the news that Gray will likely miss I'm burning another trade and bringing in either Buddy or Mundy. I've penciled in Buddy at this stage given he can be loopholed with T.Smith, this should iron out his low scores and hopefully catch the inevitable monster score that is long overdue. With GC next week I reckon the time is right.

Only 1 solitary trade left but I'm reasonably comfortable with my team, especially given Murphy has magically reappeared to cover D7, his 3 goal performance ensuring another few games.

Bully

Obviously can't do Buddy now, Sicily to Lloyd instead. Bank account left with chump change.

Solid trade tho.

A pretty good week leaves me ranked around 4500 mark, with 5 rounds to go I will need to score above par every week to reach the top 1000. Judging by this week's gain it will need to be 100 above the average, not out of the question but will take some serious luck on the injury front & some more astute captain's choices.

Still have the one trade up the sleeve, will hold out until the last 2 weeks if possible.

Ringo

Nice Bully and good luck for the remainder.

I am aiming to get to under 5k after being 30k after Rd 1.

Bully

Cheers Ringo, I can't remember a worse start to year ever, it's been a real grind to even get where I am with 5 rounds to go. If I make  the top 1000 it will be the most satisfying finish I've had, the other two top 1000 finishes I was basically there all year so didn't feel any sense of accomplishment. Here's my scoring history -

Still have the summit to go but I don't think my team has too many holes, maybe Boak the only real question mark. My mids look formidable & guys like Savage & Shaw still doing ok compared to the alternatives. Would love to see Goldy knock out a 170, that could be one piece of the puzzle in the run home.

HappyDEZ

Similar boat here Bully. 46,175 after R2. 33,966 after R5. Got my highest round rank in R6 (313) to take me up to 15,318 overall & get the ball rolling. Traded harder than usual because of the poor start. Grinded my way to 262 overall at the completion of round 18. Aiming for the top 100 or at least stay in the top 1000. Like many that will depend on whether my measly 2 trades remaining can get me to the finish line in one piece.

Bully

Nice finish Dez, have never cracked the top 100 so that would be a nice milestone.

Cheers Bully. I think a lot of regs got burnt early with some of the popular cookie cutter premos. For me it was Hibbo, Matt Crouch (inj.) & Josh Kelly (inj.) & many others had Billings also.
