Plans sound good mate, looking to bring Walters forward for Fritsch to bring in Rocky?

If you don't like the look of Rocky after this week, do you intend to get Macrae after his bye?

Massive price difference between the two, just something to consider if those are your options going forward.

That's certainly one option, want to see the time share between Gray/Boak/Rocky before making a call. At this stage I view Rocky as a cash cow with some scope to be a keeper. Macrae definitely on my radar, as is Treloar, just want to get through the bye period first. At present I have 16 starters in round 13 so need to address that imbalance. Buddy helps that situation too.

Down to 12 trades, will be 10 next week with 2 rookies to go.

Par week for me, would have been much better if I fielded Guelfi instead of Smith but to be fair Smith copped a nasty knock and these things happen. So now we hit the business end and I'm currently sitting around the 11,000 mark. Certainly not ideal but I'd like to think I'll push into the top 5000 once the byes are over. So here's my team heading into round 11.

Won't have any issues this round but next week will certainly tell a story. At present I have 16 starters which doesn't include Murphy (who will be dropped) & Garlett (who has been banished for good). With 1 trade up the sleeve I will need to bring in Ahern early so the big decision is who to cut, Garlett seems the most likely candidate but only frees up a small amount of money, if it's ZGL I rob myself of a player in round 14 & miss out on a 20k pay rise.

Gut says punt Garlett because I'm 1 injury away from a forced donut, probably best to plan for carnage I think.

Bully

Ok, have finally cracked the Da Vinci Code, Treloar can wait & it's time to just ditch BEs and focus purely on getting my round 13 crew sorted. That means letting Guelfi & Fritsch go early & bringing in Gray & Boak. I could hold off on Gray but given anything could happen next week on the injury front I'd rather just sacrifice 40k & ensure I have 18 confirmed starters. That doesn't include Murphy so 19 if the gods are kind.

This move also gives me a more logical upgrade blueprint. Next week ZGL to Ahern, Doedee to Simmo. These transactions will leave 60k in the bank for a Holman upgrade in round 14, Murphy to Mihocek makes that 165k. According to the salary predictor, Holman will be 370k based on a 75 average so I'll be in the market for a mid in the 530 range. That may not be enough for Treloar (although a Spargo trade could get that over the line) but will net me JPK, Gaz, Bont or Pendles.

Final team with 5 trades -

Yeo, Laird, Simmo, Savage, Shaw, Sicily (Mihocek, Austin)

Fyfe, T.Mitchell, Cripps, Oliver, Coniglio, Dangerfield, Dusty, Bontempelli (Spargo, Garlett, Phillips)

Gawn, Goldy (Olango)

Gray, Heeney, McLean, D.Smith, Boak, Walters (Ahern, T.Smith)

This is also works with Garlett allowing me a floating donut & Ahern being a swingman in the event of injury. Happy with this plan & the team looks competitive from where I sit. No donuts over the bye period too, hopefully hit the top 5000 by round 14.

Bully

So a slightly disappointing week but on the bright side have broken the 10,000 barrier for the first time this year, still confident I can hit 5000 by the end of the bye rounds if I don't cop a spate of injuries. Walters is getting on my nerves but I'll try and hold if possible. So this week if I get 18 starters I'll stick to my original plans of Spargo to Giro, Doedee to Simmo & will jump on Ahern early because I want him linking up with Garlett. The extra cash he brings will give me heaps of flexibility next week. In round 14 I'm down to 16 men excluding Smith & Garlett so will need cash to get the Saint rookies converted to a premo + Redman.

So the plan from here will be Holman to Treloar or Bont. This will be dependent on funds available because I want to bring in a solid option at M9. In an ideal world that guy is Hoff because it effectively covers two lines. BE is high so he could drop as low as 450k if he completely stinks it up. If not then Rocky will be the man, he may only be scraping in 100s but that's exactly what you need in that position. The other option maybe to swing Sicily to the forwards, grab Hurley & push Dev Smith to M9. Will weigh up all possibilities next week.

So with all that dealt with I'll be down to 3 trades but will have a completed team with a swingman at M9. Slightly risky this far out but it's make or break now. My current ranking demands some aggressive trading.

Like it Bully. I am still undecided to go Rocky or Wines. At the moment thinking Wines,

Wines a decent option too, the only spanner now is Dev Smith, if the prognosis is bad I'll be forced to trade this week. The could change things quite dramatically.

At least if you have 18 this week Smith has the bye so you can hold for a week if need be. My worries are Laird and Dusty.

2 trades so far have been ZGL to Giro & Phillips to Rocky, still only have 17 due to bloody Walters. Could trade him to Buddy but that seems like a wasted trade to me. Other option is Garlett to Liam Ryan or Battle. Cash in bank vs a playing rookie next week. Probably should have just gone Walters to Westhoff in hindsight but really didn't have much time to make a decision. Other option is to just cop a donut.

Next week have 16 + Garlett & T.Smith. Will definitely do rookie to Ahern & Doedee to Simmo/Hurley. That should give me 18 starters.

Currently have 7 trades.

With 7 trades would cop the donut unless it is a must win game in Leagues,

Probably true but I'm just thinking if I free up 80k I can do a double upgrade next week. Doedee to Hurley/Simmo & Holman to Hoff. That would leave me with only 3 trades but excellent coverage on two lines.

Will sleep on it.

Went to post...  :o
But i need to use three this week to get to 17, which leaves me with 5 for next week

So i'm not far off you if I use another 2-3 next week (likely)

Bully

Solid week, not spectacular given I allowed my first donut to occur. Have moved up to mid 8000s so at least I'm trending in the right direction. This week it will be the last rookie downgrades for the year. At the moment I have Spargo in the gun but can opt for Murphy/Garlett/Smith depending on availability this week. Simmo comes in for Doedee & completes my team, happy with the final structure & will be rolling the dice on Rocky to nail down M8.

Now with 4 trades & 160k in the bank I'll be bringing a swingman next week, Boak has been a failure so I'll move him to M9 & upgrade Holman to Buddy/Menegola/Westhoff. Need to sit down & work out a loophole strategy, at this stage Buddy is looking the most favourable to work in tandem with Garlett but if Spargo gets dropped I may keep him instead. Kind of ironic I'm looking for non-playing options during the byes but need to think beyond round 14.

So will be down to 3 injury trades but a rock solid squad. Slightly concerned about the defensive bench but will have 50k in the bank to bring in a replacement.
