FINAL TEAM REVEAL (DANGER IN!)

Defence

No real PODs here, Savage is at 9% so could be considered unique. The reason I've opted him over Lloyd is their relative ceilings. Lloyd struggles to score over 120 whilst Savage has the ability to go 140+, 7 tons in his last 10 games (including JLT) tells me he's in red hot form. Like others have suggested Savage is a beautiful kick and will be used as the chief distributer.

Still not quite sold on Naughton but another Adams injury just about seals his selection. Will consider Cole or O'Shea if named. Doedee takes the E most weeks & Keeffe will be my loophole man. If any cheap rookie in the backs or forwards makes a compelling case for selection I'll use a correction trade, otherwise I'm perfectly content to lose a bit of cash.

Mids

Deep with a secret weapon by the name of Dangerfield. Now at 21% which is understandable given the circumstances but will be a huge advantage when relying on C duties. Will loop Holman and hopefully get a half decent score, if it's dreadful I may even bring in Selwood for a week or 2, will assess that at the time. I like my Kelly selection, most people have TMitch & Dusty but I will be hoping they get off to slow starts. Armitage gets the nod ahead of JOM, his early draw just a little bit more enticing. Have Garlett in the mids to create a midfield link, with pickett going down I think he's a certainty.

Rucks

Gawn at 60% ownership, Goldy at 5%. Unbelievable considering Goldy has a 128 season to his name. Not worried about Preuss, I reckon his chances are slim at best to dislodge Goldy from the top spot.

Forwards

Billings picks himself. Devon Smith is slightly risky but he'll be in the guts for most of the year so I expect 90+ most weeks. Sicily is my swingman & donut maker, Lobb shuld be first ruck & lead the comp for HOTAs in 2017, contested marking is also a feature and ranked number 2 at GWS last year. Cyril is my wildcard, reckon he can become a keeper which is why I picked him ahead of Bundy. Rookies maybe subject to change but will assess when teams are announced. Haven't ruled out Venables either.
Identical structure to mine except you've squeezed a mid-pricer at F5 at the expense of having an underpriced midfield.

As MS said, only pick I'd be concerned over is Cyril.

Best of luck for 2018

Bully

Cyril could go 90, that's the attraction, to get a keeper for 300k is a massive win. The interrupted preseason hasn't been fitness based either so I'm making an exception, according to the Hawks hierarchy he's flying.

“If anyone had have come out to training in the last few weeks they would have seen that his intensity’s gone through the roof,” Hawthorn high performance manager Andrew Russell told hawthornfc.com.au.

“The boys are getting excited by what he’s producing on the training track and we are as well.”

The other point is I'm not too confident about the forward rookies, reckon there could be a 30 point difference here if all goes to plan.

If Lachlan Murphy gets named I may bring him in for Keeffe, that would also open the door for Danger to Gaz & Sicily to Heeney. Still undecided but losing the Keeffe link makes Sicily less of an option. Need some time to think over this. Can still loop Banfield but must make a decision on Murphy. The big risk is Milera coming in. Decisions, decisions.

Danger out :(
Still keeping him in?

Still fielding Lobb even though named on extended interchange with Simpson?

Not sure, will decide when the teams are finalised.

GWS will only play 1 so will wait for the final cut. If Lobb is out I will have to cut Danger to free up cash.

Kept Keeffe and lobbe?

Keeffe out for Murphy, fielded Doedee & that seems to be going ok. Won't decide on my Danger policy until Banfield plays.

Thinking about a dangerfield to ablett, to free up cash for possible Bonner pick up in another week? Going to be very handy to have that cash in another week!

Bully

Alrighty, shocking first week, the worst start to a season I can recall. Libba going down in the first 10 minutes pretty much savaged my score, now need to regroup and trade hard to get out of this quagmire. But instead of moaning & groaning I'm looking at the positives. First thing is I haven't lost any money, that can only be a positive. Second positive is I can now use this injury trade to bring back Danger (who I swapped for Ablett at the last moment) & bring in Lachlan Fogarty who looks to be a must have rookie. Pending Danger's fitness this is how it will look.

Now my ranking of 36,000 odd may look wretched but I'm taking solace in the fact I now have a perma captain whilst 80% of the comp doesn't. I'm also eyeing off English & Bonner next week, will bring back Finlaysen to the mids & possibly trade Armitage if he doesn't deliver. Olango to English will be the other likely trade.

Overall I'm actually pleased with most of my mid pricers, Sicily, Coniglio, Smith & Lobb all look like keepers. Even Rioli didn't look too bad but something has to give in this situation. Bont is a worry but no need to panic just yet. I still reserve the right to grab Parker if Bont delivers another shocker but sideways trading isn't really my thing.

As for Gaz, 8 clangers destroyed his score, was closer to a 140+ game & I suspect he will pull in some monster scores in the not too distant future.

Wouldn't say that, 53.8% have Martin, and 42.8% have Mitchell. By having Danger/Ablett instead you may well be ahead some weeks, but behind in others.

79 from Arma is good for his price. Was on track for a ton, but spent much of the second half on the bench with an injury concern (not sure what, but he played out the game with no issues).
Agree on English, I'm going to chuck him at F8 for Ryan next week if he goes 70+.
Whilst Bonner is good value, I don't think he is a necessity at this stage. Doedee, Murray and Finlayson all played well and should easily cover D4-6 for the majority of teams. Wouldn't be so quick to jump the gun. Though if he does go 80+ I can see why a lot would.

Only up from here Bully, enjoy having Danger ;)

Bully

Dusty drops off from here, that's what I'm hoping anyway. The next 4-5 match run has some statistical warning signs & historical trends.

As for TMitch, the farce continue with clubs refusing to man him up. Watched the Hawks game and the commentators are twigging on. When Neale had his breakout season, the following year the clamps were put on. Allowing a bloke 50+ possessions is unnacceptable, now that it's happened twice I suspect the penny will drop.

Tim English looks a ripper, probably the best kicking action I've seen from a big bloke since Dean Cox. Will also plonk him at F8 or R3 depending on the circumstances. Ryan looked decent so inclined to go R3 at this stage.

Riley Bonner is the perfect guy for Supercoach, if I pick him it's because I see keeper potential. I had him in my team a few pages back and now kind of regretting I didn't go with my gut. He's another with a lovely shoe on him and looks every bit as good as Witherden.

crowls

nice team bully.   think english to f8 might be worthwhile if he looks like keeping a spot.   you planning on downgrading arma to get bonner?

Bonner & English are firmly in my sights, not sure how I'll get there but it's likely I'll be using two trades next week. Possibly Armitage to Bonner via Finlaysen. The other will be Olango to English. If Bonner disappoints & Armitage fires, I may look at Bont to Parker to free up the necessary funds.
