Dawson I think could be someone who could push a 60-65 average comfortably if he gets a chance, has been in the system a few year and has been killing it in the league below. Fritsch is the other who is looking really good at the top level.

Kelly, Walters, Hibberd and O'meara would be my picks but all of them are more expensive and im sure you cant have em all haha :P

Dawson is the last remaining hope, the Swans are jam packed to the brim, will be very tough for him and if he doesn't make it, people will be left pretty bare.

As for the options above, due to financial constraints I can only do the following -

A) Kelly, Simpson. D.Smith, O'Meara
B) Kelly, Simpson, Walters, Griffen
C) Kelly, Hibberd, D.Smith, Griffen
D) Kelly, Shaw, Walters, O'Meara
E) Bont, Simpson, Walters, O'Meara

Just my two cents but F6 is a make or break spot, I remember the Rohan hole a few years back, 40s & 50s won't do. Poholke might be ok but that's contingent on him getting named. Liam Ryan is a bench option only, Venables the same, maybe Garlett but his scoring history has been patchy.

Completely agree - I wouldn't be starting any of them at F6

Dawson, Ahern and Fritsch are the guys I am hoping will line up Rd1 to start on field in the forward line

Would go B personally just in front of C and A.

D and E: no thanks.

Bully

Ok, so I initially picked A, Moneyshot picked B & GL picked C.

Doesn't make it any easier, will wait for the JLT to see how Griffen & O'Meara go and will work it out from there.

I like b) but i'd have one of the top draft picks, unless you think griffin will outscore them by 20+ points. Brayshaw/Dow/Brodie will probably all go close to 80. Wouldn't back griffen to hit 90-100 playing HB.

By my reckoning it will be -

O'Meara - 90
Griffen - 80
Brodie - 70

Brayshaw, Dow & LDU, 65

Really erring on the side of grabbing O'Meara, just think he has the most upside. Rookies rarely hit 80, O'Meara & Heppell being two recent examples, I think Daniel Rich did it too. Don't think this batch will get there.

Money Shot

!00% agree with your predicted scores Bully. A 65 average is what i expect from the top tier rookies with Brodie having the potential to push 70.

I also agree that O'meara has the most upside as I think he is the only one who could push a 100+ average this season.

ubeaut

I'd back your gut and go with option A. O'Meara over Griffen if both fit.

If your rookie predictions are right then  it won't be worth starting any high priced ones bar Brodie. Imo Brayshaw or Dow would be more likely to hit 70 so it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Just a quick update, slight change of structure with the defensive rookies looking good this year. Watched Bont yesterday and had to bring him in, contested marking was superb as was his midfield work, big ceiling and I would hate to miss the ride.

I've also swung Sicily to the forwards & brought in Keefe, this is the perfect protection for my weakest line. In the battle for M7 Armitage has edged ahead of JOM, one more JLT to settle that score. Heeney on watch as he looked awful on the weekend.

Gavdroid

Nice Bully. Just what happens if Mihocek, Holman, Ryan don't get games early with Keefe and Olango also unlikely to play? Is there enough cash generation from other rookies to get through?

Good question, not a lot in the coffers, $2700 to be exact, I'm reasonably confident we'll get 1 of  Murphy/Mihocek. I've put Mihocek in there for now but can switch that up when the teams are released.

Have to wait and see with Holman, hopefully he gets a decent run because he's cheap & has already spent a couple of years in the system.

Olango is my loophole at this stage.

If push comes to shove and I need to free up some cash there's a few options.

a) Armitage down to Griffen
b) Armitage down to Brayshaw/Brodie (will also upgrade Shaw to Hibberd if there's some loose change)
c) Heeney/Billings down to Walters
d) Bont down to Cripps

Forward rookies certainly are worrying although you'd back 1 of Ryan/Rioli/Venables to get a game.

Money Shot

think you have too move Sicily to the backline as a 123k rookie at D4 looks very weak.

Depends on the rookies though. If D6 is currently better than the F7 that would come onto the field then it's fine
