First upgrade target will be Dusty, banking on him throwing in a few stinkers to start the season.
C'mon Bully, I know you're a Tigers man and you don't mean this.  :P

Does it every year, have posted the stats in the Tmitch vs Dusty thread. First 6 rounds have always been bumpy for Dusty. Will be pouncing when he hits 550k.

Do you think tom Mitchell is $200k better option than a coniglio?
You did say people gonna steals Kelly’s points ... this guy?

Coniglio is the Marc Murphy bargain this year, very possible he hits 110. I think the trap people are making this year is paying top dollar for players who are unlikely to replicate 2017.

Lets just say you are correct about Dusty or Mitchell (the only thing that slowed Dusty down was a hip flexor injury R4) and one or both have a quiet start how do you get them in when your rookies have not plumped up enough ? side trade guns?

Rookies only need 4 pay rises - R3,R4,R5,R6

Seems Bully it is a plan that needs a lot to fall in place I got caught last year not starting Mitchell and I could not get him until the last couple of rounds because of other problems that needed to be fixed or just not enough cash to do it in 2trades

TMithell is a bit different, doesn't have a huge standard deviation. Dusty had a good run at the end of the year, he usually comes home strong. Was priced at 520k by round 7 however, that's what I'll be banking on. Cannot forget that last year was the first time he passed 110, finished third in the Brownlow the year before and still only hit 108.

Just some minor tinkering with Birch out, Bonner comes in and I've put Mirra on the bench because he's the likely replacement. Poholke looks good for a bench spot and provides a valuable link with the forwards. Rioli out, Ryan in, although it could even be Venables but who knows. I also have O'Shea in there as a place holder, that could eventually become Coffield or Hibberd, confident we'll get one. Have been reading up on the GWS situation & Cumming is a long shot unfortunately, Keeffe also doubtful.

We might get a little closer after seeing some rookies in JLT as to who is looking likely but really it's when R1 teams come out to our final setup I'm hoping there is a cheap DEF/MID to use with Sicily but not looking to promising ATM

Money Shot

Sad too see that Cumming is a long shot as I think he will be the perfect D5/D6.

In regards to the rest of your team it is looking as strong as ever.

Agree, would be perfect but it would seem the rebounder role will be given to one of the old heads, at least in the early stages. Both Deledio & Griffen training with the defenders and there's even some suggestion Taranto will get some minutes in the role. Cumming should get game time but unlikely round 1 starter.

Bully

Ok, the Port supporters think Bonner is a trap so I'm trusting their advice (thank guys). The solution is now one I've been trying to avoid, that is busting up my midfield 6, but Griffen's form in the intraclub game has given me confidence that he's the man to take M6 at the expense of Cripps. Sad to see hm go but something had to give. In the end I've brought in Hibberd who I feeel is overpriced but he's the standout option in defence. A lazy 121 in the JLT confirms he's in ripping form.

You'll also notice Finlayson in the team, this would be a fantastic result if he's named round 1, apparently taking kick-outs.

Nice team to sit Bully and await rookies. Personally would only start one of Conigs or Griffen but my opinion.

Coniglio is pretty much set, I look at him as a keeper, at worst he sits at M8-M9 for the season. Griffen is the same price as Birchall, obviously it would be better if he was playing defence but I've been trying to come up with a combo that matches Cripps/Birchall for value and this is the closest I can find. The other selling point for Griffen is he's the perfect stepping stone to get Dusty into my team if he's slow out of the blocks. By my reckoning a 90 average will push Griff to around 400k by round 7, don't think that's unreasonable based on previous output.

Now if Dusty replicates his average against his first 7 opponents, he should be around the 580k mark. Here are the 3 game averages.

Rd 1  - 122
Rd 2 - 106
Rd 3 - 116
Rd 4 - 98
Rd 5 - 86
Rd 6 - 125
Rd 7 - 122

So I'll need to come up with 180k, maybe even less if there's a another stinker in there. Might require two rookies to be culled but can plan in advance.
