Keep in mind that Walters shares the bye with Heeney, Billings, Buddy and Menegola
Thats the killer. Heeney, Billings and Buddy will no doubt be in my team come Rd14. Fyfe/Dusty/Danger in the mids, Laird (and most likely Ellis) down back and Jacobs in the ruck. Just not viable for me.

He's too valuable for us up front too so will still be parked forward on occasions for his 40s.

That bye is gonna become a nightmare for a lot of people

I love this man, idk why but i so wanna pick him. If he had any other bye he'd be locked in, his bye just makes it impossible with Heeney and Billings too  :'(  Walters played as a permanent mid for 5 games last year and averaged 117... And now hes trained with the midfield group this pre season also. Its just the bye + ross factor is doing my head in

The only way I would have him is swapping Billings for him, which is a consideration

I don't see a problem with Heeney,Billings and Walters as long as you don't have too many round 14 players in other positions.
Right now I've got Danger and Fyfe as my only other round 14 prems. So no Crouch,Dusty,Laird or Jacobs.

If Bennell can get back in the early rounds he and Matera will allow enough mid time for Walters.

No interrupted preseason unlike most other top fwd options and higher scoring potential than Lobb,Smith,Stringer,Sicily etc.

He is valuable to Freo up forward and will still play there as well but don't think 50/50 fwd/mid split is out of the question like in the 10 rounds he played last season.

The main problem is that it rules out anyone else that might be dominating from that bye. Guys like Buddy and Menegola Could be pumping out big scores and you would be forced to wait. Not the end of the world if you nail your picks but I rather have some room to fit another in if needed

Anyone know the extent of his injury? Has been looking elite would hate to have to trade due to this.

Haven’t heard of an injury so hope that means it isn’t bad!

Walters will be completely fine for next week.

Good stuff, loving him

I'm a bit worried about Walters. Due to Taberner's injury vs Dogs, he was forced to play 100% forward and although he managed 98, that was due to 5 goals, which he's not going to get against teams like WCE, Richmond and Sydney (3 of Freo's next 4 opponents).

Is there someone that Freo can replace Taberner with that will do a good enough job and allow Walters to keep playing mid? Or is he going to be forced to play forward 90%+ of the next 6-8 weeks while Taberner recovers? If so, that's a worry, might need to go early to Heeney to save me from Billings 2.0

Bully

Trading Walters is crazy, he's averaging 100. It doesn't matter where he's playing as long as he's producing good scores.

jbjimmyjb

I'm just basing it off of last year.
Round 1-6 he played 100% forward, and averaged 58.
Round 7-17 he played majority midfield, and averaged 108.

There is reason to be concerned if he returns to his former predominantly forward role.

Rounds 7-17 he was still only 50% midfield, no need for panic stations & apart from last week he has spent about the same time in the middle in 2018.
