He's too good as a midfielder. Who do you think comes in for Taberner? Probably a key position player anyway which will free up Walters again.

Basically, the scans came back, and the injury isn't as severe as they expected (were assuming 2+ months).
Is it worth holding him seeing as he'll only miss 2-3? Or is it a better plan to trade to a Heeney/Mclean this week, and then get him in 5 weeks when he's bottomed out at ~420k? (has a BE of 158)

Tough call, 3 weeks is too long IMO, by that stage Fritsch & Langdon will be very close to Walters price.

No way will the rookies be close to 460k.
Fritsch is only 240k atm, yes his BE is -7 but his 90 was out of the blue. Will be 330k or so in 3 weeks IMO.

Walters every chance to dip below 400k, an 80 on return will just about guarantee that.

I've decided to hold Walters. Think he will be a good F7/M9

What I tend to work out when I have these injuries is whether my trade plans would be different if I chose to trade him out instead.

For example last week I had Greene and Franklin out both unknown timeframes annoyingly. My trade plans originally were to get Gray and Guelfi from Venables and Hibberd. I want both those players so even if I traded either Greene or Buddy it'd be the same two coming in, so I held them both. Suddenly Franklin only has a 1-2 week injury (hold).

If people are in a similar position with Walters and their planned trades wouldn't change with him out, then I'd advocate holding this week, then you have a 1-2 week injury which doesn't seem so bad :)

So what’s the verdict all? Holding or trading? I’m coming around to the thought of holding and hoping it’s only 2 weeks.. can’t keep trading out forwards!

Trading Walters is crazy, he's averaging 100. It doesn't matter where he's playing as long as he's producing good scores.

Agree BUT what if one had Lids and Walters and Petracca?

Holding, I planned on upgrading the next two week anyway and then hoping he is back. If I sideways trade him it means an extra week of holman on the field so hoping to make some of the points back in fielding Crouch/Danger over Holman for an extra week and having Guelfi covered.

Thats as long as Siciliy doesn't get reported again and I have a 0!

I’m definitely holding, can definitely live with him only being out for a few weeks.

Will be trading Toby Greene instead

I'm trading.  I can't really afford to trade him either with all these injury trades spent already.  But I'll let late-season-me curse out current-me.

It's just really tough to swallow a 3 week hold... particularly an injury on a knee that has troubled him and was strapped.

Plus I was already quite scared with Taberner going down for ages.  Johnson came in but it feels like a bit more of a stop gap solution and I fear Mundy/Walters would have been required to rotate between a deep forward/ midfield spot.

3 weeks is too long, given this is an old injury my guess is Freo will be cautious. It's also unlikely he'll be rushed back to the midfield. Will look at Walters once he dips below 400k. Could be handy heading into the byes.

I totally agree with this. I was already worried the week before when Taberner went down, bc it really restricts Walter's mid time. The fact that he's now re-damaged something he's recently had major problems with is also worrying.
I'm just going to upgrade him to Heeney, and then upgrade a rookie such as Fritsch/Waterman to Walters when he bottoms out at 400k (BE of 158).

With WCE (Olango) having some earlier games this week and next Walters can perhaps still be handy as a late C option.
Good for nothing something.
