Shaw + K.Simpson + Pendlebury vs. Yeo + Lloyd/Savage + Cripps

Shaw: is it a "fool me once" scenerio or is it the real deal. Last season I picked him up for about 450k... Needless to say I got burnt especially as I was debating whether or not to get Hurley or Shaw in this same period
Simpson: first quarter was the main man out of defence then started to let marchbank get possessions as Carlton cruised past the saints
Pendlebury: Don't let the SC score fool you, first 3 quarters barely went out of first gear and it showed as Collingwood were getting smashed. 4th quarter decided to show the kids how to play the game. Adams transitioning to a HB role and DeGoey looking unlikely to play rd.1 Dependlebury will be the no.1 mid

Yeo: I am an Eagles supporter and everytime this man gets the ball I get so excited. Still young and looked fairly good storming through the centre. 97 SC score was pretty good despite the fact might have been needed to lock down a bit with McGovern going off the field
Lloyd: still worried about the "McVeigh" factor. Were the late season's scores just because he was returning from injury or was it something more?
Savage: Looked dangerous and could be somewhat similar to what Z.Williams does for Gws, an attack HB
Cripps: My mate took me to the open training session for Carlton and I'll admit he is probably the 2nd ever player (that's not from the Eagles) that I have a man crush on (First being Heeney). The preseason game got me excited as well as he was marking up forward like it was nothing.

Option 1 for me. Don't really need to explain as you have done that for yourself. Shaw the only real risk but could revert back to form with the rebounder role opening up.  Pendles pretty safe for 110 I would have thought. Simpson is a mid 90s robot, never seen anyone churn out the same set of numbers for as long as this bloke.

Option 2 looks really appealing but Yeo has been battling a hip injury in the preseason so may not be at his sparkling best. Lloyd has passed 120 only once in his 92 game career. Need a higher ceiling in my opinion. Cripps is tempting and could be great value but how many shizen scores will he register as he learns to be an effective forward?

McLean easy. Smith and even Sicily also good options if you don’t have them

This is the kind of question I'm asking myself when trying to make a team with Lycett.
Premium Ruck (95-100) + Conigs (100-105) vs
Lycett (75-90?) + JOM /Armo(85-100)
The second is more unknown and hard to see a better overall team with  Lycett atm. With the risk at R2 you'd want a better points potential than that.
And that's the problem I'm finding with Lycett is how to spend the money saved to make a potentially better overall team.

But you're putting the premo ruck with conigs which is of course the best option.
If I have a premo ruck I have to downgrade Conigs to a JOM or Armo type

Whoops my bad.
So it's Premo ruck (95-100) + JOM (85-100) vs Lycett (75-90) + Conigs (100-105) or 200 vs 195 best case for each. Still fairly equal.
I guess I'm looking for a clear possible advantage if going Lycett with the risk of having him at R2 and no options to trade down to if he flops.
