Heath Shaw come on down, i have had him in most drafts since very early on.

1. Love a POD who burnt enough people (including myself) last year to fly under the radar.
2. Was noted by many that he had a role change last season and that impacted more than age/form
GWS were transitioning to the younger attacking defenders.
3. Isn't that old (people are considering Simpson) and has a good premo history at the Giants.
4. Statistics show that many true premos who fall by more than 8 points in a year usually bounce back
the following year but not all the way back, was expecting mid to high 90's from him before Zac went down.

Not sure on the stats but he seemed to take far less kick ins last year. With Wilson gone and Williams likely gone for the year it leaves Shaw to do most of the kick in work where he racks points up from playing on to himself. I would expect 95 from him which is very solid

Don't forget towards the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017 teams were placing a forward tag on Heater. Be wary because teams may be more inclined to do this on the most dangerous defender in the gws backline now

Money Shot

could he go 100+ this season now???

insert Issac Cumming.

There will no doubt be some GWS defender value to be had in 2018, just need to see where it comes from.

Just noticed he shares the bye with Hibberd, Hurley and Howe so will have have to be careful which combination of defenders to start with

R14 is light on for top defs surprisingly, Laird and maybe Roberton.

Lloyd, Rance and Touhy also but unlikely to go with any of those. Not to start with anyway

Your thoughts on Ellis? Super durable, great bye, down 2016 otherwise other years have been 97, 100 and 91.

Forgot about Ellis! Apparently having a great pre season too and took out the time trial. Could be in for a big year. Houli another that's always solid

After last year? How is this even a thread.

Have you not heard the news about Williams?

Thought the same SL but when I read Quinny’s response that Williams was likely gone for the season and was like WTF I understood the emergence of the thread.
Even so, after last year I won’t be starting Heater. It’s Hibberd for me with that bye and I will watch Heater with interest over the beginning of the season and might bring him in post byes if he is doing enough to warrant it.

Downgrading Yeo to Heater is looking very tempting

100k is a massive difference, and with no Wilson and Williams Heater could bounce back

He burnt me last year too, but at least he didn't miss games and has a proven record
