I'd put this in the general discussion thread, but we all know how it works around here  8)

Anyways...

QuoteAN apparent nightclub scuffle has put the career of Fremantle Dockers star Harley Bennell in doubt.

The club has confirmed it is investigating the incident, which allegedly happened only hours before Bennell was a no-show at training.

In vision obtained by Seven News, a man is seen wrestling security guards inside club 189 in Fremantle around 11.45pm on Sunday night.

The people who filmed it claim the man involved is Fremantle midfielder Harley Bennell.

Is this the end?

God I hope not, bloke has more talent in his hand than most have in their entire body. Its just such a shame decision making isn't his strong-suit

Fine and suspension, doubt he would lose his job over it.

Its more the fact he's had 3000 chances and still can't behave himself - I agree Freo will take the fine and suspension route however.

Money Shot

So he won’t be there come round 1 I’m assuming haha

SydneyRox

He cant make good choices, surely Freo keep going with him, but thats what we said about gold coast a few years back......

Not with Freo he hasnt.  He has had the 1 incident where he was drunk at a Peel game.  Ross is big on giving guys a clean slate when they join the club.

Devil's advocate says that it's only a matter of time before another misdemeanor and they start to add up and snowball. How many chances will he get and where do you draw the line? If the trend is gonna continue, Freo might not have a choice but to cut their losses and let him go despite him having all the talent in the world.

Peter

Going to have to train real well to get a spot for Round 1 now - damn, another good option down, but could become a downgrade trade

Adamant

I'll reserve judgement until we find out more details but in the words of Ross "You always give someone a second chance, but never a third." I wonder if he'll stay true to his word.

Should be the end, but isn't.$15,000 fine, with $5,000 suspended.
Two months away from the club, to train that time at Peel, with no guarantee he will be invited back to the club.
Not good enough FFC.He should be on his bike and out the door for good.
Talent has nothing to do with it.It is setting  bad example for others at the club.
Not a happy camper here.

I dont want to argue her but firing him is a huge over-reaction.  Lets just agree to disagree.

anchorman

I disagree, but will agree to disagree.

Peter

At least by training at Peel, he has the chance to work his way back - proof will be in the pudding, if he wants a spot in a team going places

elephants

At least training at Peel he'll be at a better football team :P

Nah I love Harley, bloke is such a freak but thats a fairly soft punishment imo - agree with the anchor
