Devon Smith seems fairly confident he'll be playing approx 70% mid, and we know that's why he left GWS

Has shown good SC scoring in the past and that was mostly as a forward too

Bit of a risky injury wise, but he can stay fit and play a lot of mid then 90+ has to be realistic

Of all these Bombers getting "mid" time, I expect him to get the most of him, Stringer and McGrath. In my current team and can't see him moving.

Yeah just watched Devons press conference and he said he has done all of his pre season training in the mids. Very tempting

Yep had him at F3 since SC opened. Read the article just then which RD mentioned and will wait on JLT before making a final decision but if he’s playing 70% mid, you almost say he’s a lock. Had mainly played as a forwards at GWS with stints in the mids, so reverse that role and can seriously see him averaging 90-95 plus.

So apparently Motlop has been changed to a fwd/mid today..
Does this mean Lobb could be changed to fwd/ruck

Need to be careful with jumping on too early as he has never really proven himself as a full time mid. Might be a good correction trade option.

D-Von Smithley isn't the most reliable option if you want 22 matches. Testify.

Haven't seen much talk about Mitch Wallis??

Averaged 98 in '15, then broke his leg in '16. Came back midway through last season and averaged an impressive 88 for someone who had snapped their leg. Surely will only get better again this year and push that back to the high 90's?

If someone like Libba were to go down I'd be very keen.

Ha! Wallis is very much on the radar.

He doesn't have to be a big accumulator. Mark Ricciuto was a low 20s disposal player for most of his career but he still posted some decent DT numbers, and even averaged 94.6 SC from 22 disposals in 2005. I see Stringer as a similar type of player.

18 disposals (9 kicks, 9 handballs), 2.5 marks, 4 tackles and a goal per game wouldn't be too much of an ask for a 70-30 mid/fwd split. That would get him to 78.5 DT and 87 SC with his career ratio. Priced at 64, you'd take that.

70% very optimistic, you don't go from a lazy trainer to a hardened midfielder in one season.

He’ll probably perform well when the season is young, but lose a bit of interest when it matures...

Won’t have the tank I reckon
One game in and we are already looking for the tanker to top him off mid game.    Early days yet and I am not liking what I see so far from Stringer.  His approach to the first game,  no pass, thongs etc says it all,  total lack of personal pride and professionalism.      Optimistic to think he might grow up a bit.   Woosha taken on a massive project with this kid at the risk of poisoning the rest of the team.[/size]

Gunston will be in the top 6 though, mark my words!

9th best at the moment, will move into the top 6 this week and sit there all season.

Thanks SL.    Do not know what is going on with my system.

79 from Billings is a bit disappointing but I'll take it considering how showerhouse St Kilda were

ubeaut

I know alot of fwd premos had question marks in preseason (Greene not running till feb, Gray suspended, Buddy knee ops etc) but I'm thinking I made a mistake picking unproven players in Billings and Walters over Greene and Buddy. St.Kilda and Freo are going t o struggle. Walters won't get the mid time I thought he would, and Billings, as good as he is, is going to find it hard going in a team that just got flogged by North Friggin Melbourne!
Greene and Buddy on the other hand have hit the ground running and showing no sign of interupted preaseasons and play for top six teams. Anyone that picked them along with Heeney is going to have a nice head start imo.
Only happy with Heeney in my fwd line atm, although Smith looks promising.
