As a comparison here are is Shiel & Hannerbery compared to Cripps at the same price.

Id take Cripps over Shiel, but not over Hanners.

Cripps
36 games
13 over 110
22 over 100

Shiel
43 games
11 over 110
21 over 100

Hannebery
43 Games
21 over 110
28 over 100

I understand why people are liking the look of Cripps, I was considering at first aswell, but at his price you lose out on very little by not starting him even if he becomes a must have.  There just seems to be this love affair with him that has people looking at him with a very siloed view. If he was $450k then yes I would be all over it, but with his history and injury past his ownership is just way too high to make it worth it.

I see it as there being 4 possibilities that could happen
He averages 120+ - I lose out on people who start him, but can still bring him in for 70-100k more than his starting price
He averages 110 - - My selection in replacement of Cripps would offset that, I can then decide if I want him or take another premium as the upgrade option
He averages 100ish - People are stuck with an underperforming premium and im ahead both on points and the saving of a trade
He gets injured (Again) - Im well ahead.

Cripps just shy of 23 should be entering his prime, big ceiling already for a 59 gamer. Not too many footballers have scores of 172, 157 & 153 at this early stage in their career. Shiel has never clocked up a 150, that's in 112 games, Hanners has done it twice in 193 games.

Im not saying that im picking Hanners or Shiel, as im not. I see none of them as worth starting.

The point was that he is not clearly a better pick than all those around his price range, then you have people slightly more expensive who are better & safer picks. Its not representative of having such a high ownership %

I'd say that Cripps has the most potential to go up - age, scoring ceiling, expanding his role to include forward pinch hitting. Only last year he averaged 107, last year his injury affected 25 dragged his average below 100, there's a discount as a result.

Hanners seems to have hit the proverbial brick wall, 3 tons in 12 games to round out the season. The trend aint your friend in this instance. Shiel has never been a good scorer, 102 is his best, only once has he clocked 100 for a season. In this instance I'd say Cripps is the clear standout, followed by Hanners (provided he spends more time in the middle). Unfortunately for Hanners I'd say his role will be forward with extra midfield time given to Heeney, Papley, Florent & Jones. If we're focused on Swans I'd give the nod to Parker ahead of Hanners.

No point even talking about Hanners

He's still injured and barely had much of a preseason

Not an option

Bully

Think we need a change of title.

Gigantor

Didn't ton up, should we trade ? :o    :P :P

MontyJnr

Anyone now have doubts on him being a Top 10 mid season end?

I was considering trading him in next week considering price and favourable bye...

Panic. Everyone Panic.

SilverLion

Played shower. So did the side. Still scored 92. Not worried in the slightest.

Daicos.

Why are people even remotely worried about this score? He had 4 Frees against and 8 clangers, with only 1 tackle (rare), also down on clearance numbers, and still scored 90+.

Probably won't play a worse game this year.
