After a lot of tinkering I've found what I think is a pretty well balanced side that suits byes well. 20k left in the bank and if a few more defender rookies pop up I'll certainly be open to trading Birch down and upgrading O'Meara to Coniglio or maybe a super premo if I can find the money elsewhere. What are your thoughts?

Good team Q very even across all lines I'm not sold on Barlow myself coming off a broken leg think his durability is no longer there after 2 injury riddled years but that's SC you have to take a risk somewhere the rest me likey ;D

Thanks mate!
Yeah Barlow has come in and out a lot and am considering Lobb also which saves me a little cash too.
Last I heard was that Barlow was flying and won the time trial though so really like him for a 100+ season if fit.

Both of us Tiges supporters and both of us with only Higgins in the teams the one to watch out for is Miles for 310K if he can get back in the team  ;)

Very good team to start. A few questionable cheapies like Richards and Venables but both could be great. I have a stacked midfield too with the lack of options in defence and forward. I feel like Wigg will be a must have in the midfield and will play most games but a great start mate.

Ringo

Nice well balanced team to start with Q.  One concern I have though is will Lever effect Hibberds output so need to watch JLT and unfortunately now only 2 games to gauge.

Should be able to cover Barlow with Rd 10 bye the only real downside to him.  Yes has been flying at Suns training and says he is ready to step up in midfield and guide youngsters and assist Lynch so a good selection.

Well set up for byes with prems whether that was intention or not. No real comment on rookies till we see who plays and you have plans to combat as well.

Well done.

Yep haha I have had Dusty in and out but it throws out the balance a bit with Fyfe and Danger already sharing the same bye.
Miles definitely a chance but I feel it will take a long term injury for him to cement a spot in our midfield.

Thanks mate. Rookies definitely tentative until I see them in the pre season. I moved Wigg on when he got injured but certainly still in the mix and hoping he's right to go for round 1

Cheers Ringo! Certainly a small question mark on Hibberd however I have question marks on Hurley backing up such a good season and talk of Howe playing forward so he seemed as safe as any of the top defenders. Will keep an eye out though and actually like Simmo with Docherty out for the year.

Merrett over Martin an interesting choice, considering Champion Data’s allocating points to Martin during last season and the new guys coming into Essendon. Good luck gor 2018

It's not so much Merrett over Martin as Dusty is 50k more and has the same bye as Fyfe and Danger so I wanted to keep the spread even. As much as I love Dusty and know he can blow apart games and score huge, he is also prone to flat patches throughout the season. Last year I started without out him and regretted it when he went huge in the first 3 weeks but then scored 54, 92, 93, 87 and I was able to get him a couple of weeks after that for just over 500k. Hoping for something similar to happen

Hi Quinny, I really like your team, except for the JOM selection.  I picked him last year and it burned me week after week, never again! The man has a chronic knee injury, which if you cast your mind back to the North Melbourne medical report was stated to be 'career ending'.  I think he will go through a pattern of playing successive weeks until the pain becomes unbearable, then he will have to rest, as per last year.  Watch some of the matches from last year, he was walked from contest to contest sometimes, couldn't run! No thanks! Anyhow, best of luck mate.

I had him last year too so you would think I'd have learnt my lesson haha  ;D
All I've heard so far though is that he hasn't missed a beat all pre season so I'm happy to sit him there until I hear even 1 negative report of soreness or anything. Will no doubt be in and out a bit. Thanks mate

Peter

Good point re bye spread and good luck for 2018
