18th ranked side:
2012 - 675
2013 - 1371
2014 - 990
2015 - 675
2016 - 564
2017 - 1393
2018 - Currently 4409

Big drop off. Many people just not signed up yet you reckon?
A lot found last season very difficult, it look a while for the norm to settle in I think.
I thought it was just me last year, but looking at the rankings of coaches on FF it appears many of us struggled.   2018 to be better for all of us.

*coughs* I didn't struggle......

:P
Yes,  what a great year Trindacut.      Hope you can remain in the top 100 this year as well.
BTW what were the decisions that  made last year a success for you.

Biggest factor is probably luck. You can consistently get in the top 5000 if you're really good, but if luck swings your way you can go high.

I buggered up the byes in 2016 pretty badly. Before the 2017 start I made a spreadsheet for the byes, spreading it out for prems/rookies over their positions for each bye. This showed me if I had too many guns having a bye in any one week, and if I had too many playing in one position each bye week. This might seem counterintuitive, but you basically are carrying an extra week without a player if you have say only one def bye player in one week.

Keeping to bye structure is important through the early weeks too if you have to replace for injuries or absent rookies. It's bee different again this year because the byes are later. So your rookies byes are as important but who you trade in will be.

I kept on top of rookies that got dropped. I spent about half a dozen trades swapping out rookies that had earned not much or very little to get someone who was playing and making money. This sometimes came at the cost/risk of a plump rookie staying in another week or two and risking a minor price drop.

Don't do side trades. I did one last year, Hanners to Cotchin, it didn't pay off that much. Avoid mid-priced players (300-450k)

Start with a 90% cookie cutter team, 10% PODs. Don't do POD rookies. This means you should have 3 PODs. I aim for less than 5% selections for these. If you're feeling brave go with a less than 1%. I'll do one in each area, so not 3 midfielder PODs.

Don't overthink things. Don't try and be too smart. Don't take a lot of risks. Don't be afraid to pull the trigger on a trade, so long as it isn't a side trade.

Oh, and start with Danger.

So last year, i got people from each league to post a screenshot of the overall ranks of everyone in the league. So for returning players such as yourself, just had to see what league you were in (platinum), and then find your team name in the screenshot provided. Just gotta check the thread from last year if you wanna see how yourself :) (last 2 pages or so)

Good one!

We should be able to see previous years in the supercoach site/app usually though?
