Ended up not picking up Smith.

Am considering Garlett --> Dawson/England/Wilson/Powell this week.

Would mean I could go T. Smith --> Boak and Duman to 102k DEF donut next week with 4 trades left still.

Thoughts?
Instead of Boak you could risk billings at $45k cheaper?
Or trade out T Smith and swing Sicily FWD and get a DEF like Haynes, Hardwick, Harry Taylor, Seedsman, Cutler or JJ?

Cheers HoleMeal, yeah looking at alternative options to Boak, looks like there's a lot of options and even though he killed me earlier this year, Billings is one of them.

If I were to swing Sicily forward I'd have to play one of those guys you mentioned or Witherden on the ground and bench Walters, which would make my backline a bit weak.

These are the trades I am considering this week:

Duman --> 102k DEF (Unsure which is the best for loopholing currently)

T. Smith --> 438k or less FWD or MID.

- If I were to bring in a FWD/MID, I could keep a DPP link with Ahern in the mids.
- If I were to bring in a FWD, I could keep a DPP link with Walters/Ahern.
- If I were to bring in a MID, I would have no DPP link with the MIDs, and my FWD bench would be Ahern and Battle.

Options I am considering:

FWD/MIDs: Mundy, E. Langdon, Lambert, Caddy, Boak, Taranto, Dahlhaus, Harmes.

FWDs: Hogan, C. Curnow, Riewoldt, Billings.

MIDs: Grigg, Hunter, Ang. Brayshaw (D), Ebert, Rockliff, N. Jones, Goddard, Shuey.

A lot of options here, with none that are really jumping out at me currently. Who would you guys pick out of these guys? ;D

You could not stretch to 455K for DeGoey as another option for M/F?

Like the forward option with Charlie Curnow - Blues play only 1 team in the 8 for rest of season.

Best defender for loopholing is Payne but he is 117k.

Unfortunately not, T. Smith and Duman were the two rookies who had made the most cash that I was willing to cash in for an F7 (wouldn't trade Ahern).

With Fyfe out now long term he needs to go so a change of plans is needed. I have narrowed my options down to 2:

Fyfe --> Gaff

Next week:
Duman --> McDaid
T. Smith --> $490k or so F7.

Leaves me with 3 Trades.

Or

Fyfe --> E. Curnow
T. Smith --> C. Curnow

Which would leave me with 4.

I can afford the second option with only $800 leftover, so can't even go Gaff instead of E. Curnow. Also need to factor in that if Heeney misses and I don't choose Option 2, that I'll be playing a rookie this week to cover (Ahern or T. Smith).

Option 1 side (3 Trades left):

Def: Laird, Sicily (F/D), Yeo, Simpson, Hurley, Savage (Witherden, Duman)

Mid: Mitchell, Dangerfield, Cripps, Oliver, Gaff, Merrett, Coniglio, D. Martin (Ahern (F/M), Giro, Dawson)

Ruck: Gawn, S. Martin (Olango)

Fwd: Heeney (F/M), McLean (F/M), Robinson (F/M), Westhoff (F/M), R. Gray, D. Smith (Walters (F/M), Battle)

Note that I could only bring in Gray if he goes sub 115 or so. Otherwise would other options are Franklin or Menegola.

Option 2 side (4 Trades left):

Def: Laird, Sicily (F/D), Yeo, Simpson, Hurley, Savage (Witherden, Duman)

Mid: Mitchell, Dangerfield, Cripps, Oliver, E. Curnow, Merrett, Coniglio, D. Martin (Ahern (F/M), Giro, Dawson)

Ruck: Gawn, S. Martin (Olango)

Fwd: Heeney (F/M), McLean (F/M), Robinson (F/M), Westhoff (F/M), D. Smith, Walters (F/M) (C. Curnow, Battle)

Thoughts please? I'm really not sure which option to go for.

Final side with 4 trades and $800 in the bank:

(Positions sorted by current average)

Def: Simpson, Laird, Yeo, Sicily (D/F), Hurley, Savage (Witherden, Duman)
Mid: Mitchell, Cripps, Dangerfield, Oliver, E. Curnow, Coniglio, D. Martin, Merrett (Ahern (M/F), Giro, Dawson)
Ruck: Gawn, S. Martin (Olango)
Fwd: Westhoff (F/M), Heeney (F/M), McLean (F/M), Robinson (F/M), Smith, Walters (F/M) (C. Curnow, Battle)

Pretty happy with how the side has come together.  I quite liked how enzedder analysed their trades and thought now that my side is effectively complete I'd take a look back at mine as well :)

Round 1: -
Round 2: -
Round 3: M. Crouch --> Heeney (Forced injury trade, but happy with the pick)
Round 4: Armitage --> Crowden, And. Brayshaw --> McLean (Traded these 2 as they both seemed to not be making money, and Arma was dropped too IIRC. Happy with these trades, Crowden was the only mid rookie on the bubble that week.)
Round 5: Ryan --> Coffield (Questionable trade. Probably should've have opted for a cheaper rookie)
Round 6: Bonner --> Merrett, Naughton --> Mirra (Good Trades)
Round 7: Murray --> Duman, Holman --> Robinson (Good Trades. Probably traded Holman out too early though.)
Round 8: Christensen --> Ronke, Banfield --> Spargo (Good Trades)
Round 9: Doedee --> Yeo, Finlayson --> Simpson (Good Trades. Not sure if I should've held Doedee, but if I did I wouldn't have finished my backs as early.)
Round 10: Kelly --> Dangerfield, Coffield --> Phillips (Good Trades)
Round 11: Crowden --> T. Smith, Fritsch --> Walters (Happy with Crowden --> T. Smith, but Fritsch --> Walters has proved an unnecessary trade as Fritsch has been scoring around the same.)
Round 12: Billings --> Ahern, Mirra --> Austin (Finally culled Billings, only due to him being dropped. Jury still out on that one. Mirra --> Austin was a good trade though.)
Round 13: Giles-Langdon --> Battle, Phillips --> Giro, Spargo --> Westhoff (Good Trades)
Round 14: Ronke --> Oliver (Good Trade)

At this stage I had a full premium field.

Round 14 (cont.): Austin --> Witherden (Luxury Trade, happy so far)
Round 15: Garlett --> Dawson (Questionable trade, probably made it a week late.)
Round 16: Fyfe --> E. Curnow, T. Smith --> C. Curnow (Too early to tell, so far looking like bad trades.)

Last 4 Trades are reserved for injuries, or possibly getting Macrae.

Options for Sicily replacement:

First part:

1. Loophole Witherden this week, if 80+ hold. Can only trade to Hurn/TMac if he goes sub 80 this week.
2. Do one of the following trade(s) straight up.

Second part:

3. Sicily --> Hurn/TMac/Crisp
4. Sicily --> O' Riordan, Giro --> Macrae (Witherden to D6, D. Martin to M9).
5. Sicily --> Lloyd, Giro --> Rookie

Currently have 4 Trades.

Advice much appreciated :)

A combo of 1 & 3 is my suggestion.

Witherden plays Sat night.  He gets 80+ as E and you hold Sicily this week.  He goes under 80, you trade Sicily - Hurn.  Unfortunately Tmac also plays Sat night so that doesnt work.

Best case - you get points and save a trade.
Worst case - you use 1 trade and get Hurn in good form.

PowerBug

With 4 trades and the way things have gone I wouldn't go doing an up/down double trade. Straight swap Sicily and hold onto the trades.

Was the D/F be important to you? In my case Sicily was also covering the fwds (via Keeffe, so was going to cover Gray this week), that makes the decision for me to grab TMac easy. If you have a similar swing then I'd grab TMac, the DPP will help. Otherwise I like the idea of looping Withers and then grabbing Hurn/waiting a week.

Thanks Chrispy. Regardless though, I will have to trade Sicily at some stage, so the trade would be delayed more than saved.

Thanks PB. The D/F didn't really matter to me, ended up just treating Sicily as a defender (despite starting him in my forward line at the start of the year).

Am leaning towards looping Witherden and bringing in Hurn if sub 80, or bringing in Crisp straight up. Will ponder this for the next couple of days, thanks guys :)

Given that Murray has been named, I have decided to lock in Hurn as Sicily's replacement. Will probably bring him in today, as if I loophole him with Witherden and he goes 120+, I won't be able to afford him next week.

I decided to wait and see how Witherden went before trading. Gotta lock in the GOAT's score and work out what to do with Sicily next week.

WitherGOAT delivers again.

Now just need Heater to make up for Mihocek's 101 sitting on the pine.

Was an absolute steal at 374k 8)

And best of luck mate :)

Just going to repost my question from the who to field thread, as last night's scores to Robbo and Witherden have given me some serious food for thought:

Quote from: SilverLion on July 22, 2018, 10:07:46 AM
Is Witherden good enough to leave on the field as D6? He's currently D7, but depending on what I do with Sicily, one option would be to trade Sicily to O' Riordan, and promote Witherden to D6.

I'm beginning to think this could be a viable option, as I'm not confident fielding 2/3 of Walters/Robinson/C Curnow up forward, and would like to get a R Gray type, and Walters/Robbo to M10.

Trindacut

I'd be trying to get Robbie Gray, dead set gun.

Got him, was a bit disappointed, but he did outscore Walters which was the main thing ;D

Currently have 2 trades and 186k in the bank and the following side:

Considering a luxury trade this week to give the side a boost for finals. Thinking one of the following:

Duman --> Lu. Ryan
Savage --> Lloyd
Walters --> Macrae
Ahern --> Gaff

Thinking Walters --> Macrae would be the most beneficial to my onfield side, but Duman --> Lu. Ryan would give me a premium D7, M9 and F7, but the other options are also tempting.

Thoughts?
