Nice team to sit but shame on you no Lions captain  ;)

Different plan to me for Danger but fair Plan B.

Beams was great for me last year, had him until he got injured the second time, then traded him out but eventually got him back for around $360k late in the season and was instrumental to me drawing my grand final against Jay Clark.

I just can't squeeze him in from the start this year sadly, will look at him during the season as an upgrade target definitely though.

Nice team but u seem to have the byes mixed up? There's no r11 bye just 10,12,13,14
Laird,Crouch,Fyfe have same r14 bye as Savage,Danger,Billings.
Like the Hurley pick.

Ah thanks for pointing that out, yeah I got my bye planning from here:
http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,109644.0.html

Might've mixed it up. Here's the proper structure (taken from the official fixture this time ;)):

Bye Structure (Prems/Mid pricers only) (Will only start one of the three guys in Red)
Round 10: None
Round 12: Mitchell, Cripps, Sicily
Round 13: Hurley, Coniglio, S. Martin, Gawn, D. Smith (Christensen?, Oliver)
Round 13: Laird, Savage, Dangerfield, Crouch, Fyfe, Billings, Smith (Armitage?, D. Martin)

Also, with the latest Oliver injury concern I'm leaning towards just starting Martin regardless. Unless we hear something to say Danger is a definite starter ;D

Picking Hurley ahead of Hibberd is what I hope to be one of the decisions that separates my team from the pack :)

Money Shot

I also like the Hurley pick and think he will be the top defender come seasons end, I have Hurley, Laird and Hibberd and am happy with all of them.

Like the team though mate.

Bully

Hurley is a great pick, probably won't dip below 500k which is what you want from a premo defender.

YoungGun

Nice team, very very similar to mine with equal depth in the mids and Bundy at F4.

I'll be in the pack starting Hibberd against your Hurley - could be an interesting battle. Best of luck, love the structure.

Yeah thats fair, would love to have Hibberd too, but can't have them all ;D

And thanks ;)

Agreed, love picking the guys who have shown consistency in the past (Titch, Crouch, Laird etc.)

Couple of things, thinking I'll go Martin for Danger. I'm going to be out tonight and we're still no clearer on if Danger is playing or not, so thinking i'll be safe and go Martin.

Doing this gives me enough cash to go Brayshaw up to O' Meara for M8, or if I make some small tweaks, go Ryan --> Bell at F5. Or I could just bank the cash. Thoughts?

f you do the swap to Dusty I would try and address your R12 bye issue, I think Stef Martin was a good pick up last year as he was undervalued. He's not this year and is not the best of the best, I'd get Kruezer, his numbers were outstanding, and rolled ankle aside is in good health.

I think the options you suggest actually increase the risk in your team, not diminish it...

Thanks Sam.

Yeah thats probably a fair point regarding increased risk, wasn't sure where to spend the leftover cash was all. Am starting to think I should save it, or possibly go Coffield --> Bonner depending on rookie situation.

The other on-field ruckman has been my biggest issue all pre-season. I have my doubts and reasons for not picking all the guys in the top 10. Stef, Goldstein and Jacobs were the 3 I was most confident with. Jacobs is inconsistent and has a terrible bye, Goldstein has the same bye as Stef and has Preuss knocking down the door. Stef does have Archie Smith, but I feel that even if Smith plays, Martin will still be the main ruckman.

I do like Kreuzer, just couldn't pay that much for him. If he was 50k cheaper, he'd be locked in my side. But then again, he'd be in everyone's :P.

I assume by Rd. 12 bye issue you mean that I've only got 3 players out that week? If so, its because I intend to target a few Carlton/Dogs players during the early parts of the season as upgrade targets (Bont, Simpson etc.).

Think I'll be leaving my mids as is, and if Ryan plays, then probably my forwards too.

Fair enough mate, sounds logical.

I always remember my first season when I had little idea on how to play SC, and I placed a high emphasis on durability when selecting players, I ended up finished around 2K. Have finished higher and lower since, and when I had rubbish years I was wasting trades on risky, non-durable selections. I think durability is still an undervalued player trait when assessing players.

100% agreed.

Right so I did end up going Martin for Danger (thankfully hah).

Got 276k now for this spot. Was thinking Bonner, could go Murphy and pocket the cash. What do you guys think?

Could also swing Sicily back and go for a forward instead.

Ringo

Have you thought of Keeffe a little cheaper than Murphy and gives you the Sicily DPP. Murphy now an emergency as well.

Another suggestion but up to you is Nigs up to any mid $611k or less if you chose Keeffe, Even Beams.  Mids would be strong with Cripps at M6.

Sicily at F3 probably a risk as well so another alternative would be to upgrade him.

Thanks Ringo.

I meant the Adelaide Murphy, not the North one ;)

Hadn't thought of upgrading Coniglio, interesting idea. I've had him all pre-season and have always just thought of him as a solid M8/9 who should go 100+. I get the feeling if I went that route, the guy I'd want would be Oliver, but I'd be 1k short, and would have to go L. Murphy down back for the funds to do it which I'm not sure on.

Upgrading Sicily wouldn't be a bad idea, have been tempted by McLean, but not sure.

The issue is, we probably won't know if Keeffe is playing until tomorrow, and with Murphy playing tonight, a decision needs to be made.

What are your thoughts on Bonner?

Ringo

Bonner should be a reasonable pick with Broadbent and Pittard both out for 4 - 6 weeks so will depend on his form whether he stays in after their return. Hopefully has made a bit of coin by that time though as starting from a high base, If he averages 75 - 80 should make a bit for you.

Regarding Keeffe should know his fate this afternoon with Sunday Teams finalised.

Ah well that's a relief, thought we wouldn't know until tomorrow for some reason :o

I think if Keeffe is named I'll pick him, if not then Bonner. If I go Keeffe, will look into where exactly I can use the extra funds.

Thanks again Ringo :)
