Really is Heeney vs Coniglio, so if Heeney gets over his injury by then, going to a big decision for you

Hope it doesn't come down to that, that would be tough :-[

Though if I don't start with Coniglio I doubt I'll bring him in, whereas I feel if necessary I could bring in Heeney during the year if he proves to be a top 5 forward.

Exactly, Heeney is a real chance to be a top 3 forward where as Coniglio is unlikely to be top 15. Although they may average the same one is a keeper and the other is going to maybe be good enough for M8

Peter

Note advice from MS, been saying it across all teams, so remember it

Hmm, thats a different way of looking at it hah, seems logical now that you've put it that way ;D

Indeed I shall, love seeing everyone here's opinions on things like this, you all seem to have your own way of looking at it which allows for great discussion

SC Side v4

Changes:
Duncan --> Lobb (via Higgins)
Garner --> Birchall

$70k to spare.

I have the option to either have Ah Chee or Birchall depending on rookies available and which options shapes up as the better pick. Duncan had to make way as I agreed with you guys that going 7 deep in the mids left me with no flexibility and forced me to compromise my forward line.

Don't want to start Heeney as he has had an interrupted pre season, feel that he won't really go up much from his starting price so could pick him up at any time.

Going to start Coniglio as I see him as the Murphy/Beams of last year and should be able to fill M7/8/9 for the season, and at his starting price is too good to pass up.

With the 70k also have the option to go Naitanui to Jacobs depending on pre-season.

Starting Lobb if he is named as sole ruck Rd. 1 as he should be the Nank of 2018.

Will look to bring in Duncan at some stage during the year if he backs up last year. But by not starting him I have the flexibility to choose whoever the best option may be (Martin, Oliver, Kelly, Zorko etc.).

Thanks for the advice so far guys, thoughts on my latest installment? ;D

Edit: Wow there was a few typos in there ;D

Best team yet. Structure is good and all the picks are good also.

Prefer Birchall over Ah Chee at this stage just because it fits your structure better.

Some really nice pods in there as well which every team needs.

Coniglio will be the Murphy of 2018 and should be good for a 105 average which you would take at M8 and 460k as well as Cripps having the potential to go 110+.

great job and good team to sit on until the JLT.

Yeah I feel like Birchall is the better option currently, but that pick will be entirely dependent on rookies available (unless I flip my side over entirely which is possible ;D)

Nice looking team there mate.
I don't mind Witherden and think he'll be okay, but think is the word. Personally prefer Hibberd/Simmo.
Menegola is also probably going to be a good pick but the price is daunting and he might be picked up for cheaper later.
Nitpicking though.
Well done.

Peter

Nice team, paid full money and you believe Witherden and Coniglio will make it to the top ones of each line. A fair assumption - like it

Thanks NZ. Yeah have been looking at Simmo myself, reliable as you can he and almost a lock for 90+. Could easily swap Withers for him if I chicken out ;D

True re:Menegola. I think pretty much all of the top end forwards have some kind of risk associated with them, if Menegola appears he will be playing a decent % mid time in the JLT, I'm willing to risk a price drop to start him. If he doesn't, I'll swap to Franklin/Greene.

Cheers Peter. Yeah that was my strategy last year - to pick a couple of top prems, last year was Shaw (heh), Laird, Adams, Macrae, Dahlhaus, Grundy IIRC and chuck in a couple of speculative prems (last year was Titch, Nank, Steele); that strategy got me my PB ranking, so figured I'd stick with it :P.

Only one minor issue SL to plan for is that your rookies, whilst placeholders, are all cheapies and if the don’t play Coniglio will have to go

Got Uniacke, Higgns, O' Shea and Richards + 70k so hoping that'll cover that issue if it arises ;)

Post Williams injury

Few minor changes, one major one forced due to Williams rupturing his achilles.

Williams --> Hurley
Birchall --> Brayshaw
O'Shea --> Garner

32k in the bank.

Just a slight restructure of the defence. Don't trust Birchall currently, interrupted pre-season at his age isn't a good side. Upon rethinking, feel that Brayshaw should average more and can justify the extra 50k spend.

Hopefully theres no more injuries so I can sit on this one for a while ;D
