Beijing Capitulate against Hungry Wolves

An absolute 'mare from the Thunder. We know they are so much better, so we'll leave it at that. The Wolves would be quite chuffed that their almost completely new team served up the 4th highest score for the week.

Oh no Benny Brown. You were never flourishing in that environment. You could almost pin Toby Nankervis as the difference here, as the long season of Cairo OOP rucks begins. A win full of bragging rights for Cape Town.

New York find a way to win

What's that? New York conceding defeat over and over again, only to win? Given the missing staff, this was a fortunate win for New York, who can count their blessings with captain Heeney at the helm. The Reindeers probably just needed one more available AFL player, and they may have won really, as the sub eligible Matt Kennedy was forced to stay on the ground.

Dublin keep Delhi streak going

If the New Delhi Tigers go on to win the next 16 games, they still wouldn't enter finals with confidence. That's the curse to bear until these two teams meet again in September, as I'm sure they will. Dublin just too good yet again.

Jaguars dismiss misfiring Tokyo

This was always going to be an important win for whoever did, as they are both tipped for pain this year. But never dismiss a 130+ score, maybe Rio will be better than we thought? Meanwhile, much work needs to be done at Tokyo, but it's only Round 1, they can turnaround their fortunes quite quickly.

Buddy brings Berlin home in 100th

WOW! The Saints had the upper hand going into the last match of the round, and even had Luke Parker go nuts with 149. It was going to take something special to overcome them, and who better than Lance Franklin? A 175 from the star forward brings Berlin a great start to their season, who are going all or nothing. It was just fitting that he played his 100th game in the process.

The Saints meanwhile would feel disappointed scoring 140+ and not winning, but there is a lot of scope for improvement in this XV, and could very feel feature in september.

Berlin Brewers (23.7.145) def Christchurch Saints (22.10.142)

Mighty Moscow, Meek Mexico

Gee, we're not used to seeing that from Mexico City. Alas, it's expected to just be the start of it this season. Moscow would be reasonably pleased with 130+, given injury affected scores to Kreuzer and Burton.

Get ready for this one, meow's MATCH OF THE ROUND!

Some of these reserves scores are hilarious!  ;D

How did PNL finish on minus 1 goal? LMAO

Some teams couldn't even score above 10 points?

Tokyo reserves tho  :o

Super Seoul defeat Powerful Pacific

Wowzer! WHAT A GAME! The Islanders needed 146 points from their two remaining players in Gaff & Duggan, but they only managed 141! I really thought the Islanders would take home the W, but even a Dangerfield-less Seoul is quite intimidating. Has David Swallow joined KelliveField?

But just awful luck for Pacific, who marginally scored the 3rd highest score of the week. A great game guys. I wonder if this will later influence top 4 placings?

Seoul Magpies (24.8.152) def Pacific Islanders (24.7.151)
