Well, if you look at Laird’s second half of season, some opposition teams did lock him down....

My biggest lock is Lobb playing as solo ruck, closely followed by Birchall and Cripps.

In light of the Bennell situation I think Lobb is set to become a lot more popular.
He smashed it in the semi and preliminary finals after Mumford hurt his ankle and the No.1 spot is all his for the taking. Dawson Simpson had a good year in the NEAFL but has failed to deliver anything in his AFL games to date, youngster Matthew Flynn is reported to be coming along nicely and Lachie Keeffe has arrived from Collingwood and is slated to offer back-up ruck cover. Patton and Himmelberg can pinch hit in the ruck and that's about it.
GWS's Round 1 team will say a lot. I don't think the JLT will tell us much.

After having him from start to finish last year, he was the first selected player in my side.

My biggest locks are Dusty and Danger. And the incredible thing is that I believe both still have improvement in them. Dusty the most.

One thing keeping me away from Mitchell is the prospect of spending time forward, think this will drag his average down. Both O'Meara & Mitchell have been rotating in that position during intra club games.

"Mitchell also spent game time up forward in a potential sign of the Hawks’ wish to push both midfielders into the attacking arc this season. But the ball magnet, like he did in his record-breaking 2017 campaign, did his best work in the guts, picking up from where he left off last year and winning a stack of the ball."
