Just posting here that I was the first to get on Savage. xo
Always liked him a an option tbh, but...

Witherden>Savage

Savage>Lloyd though imo

Pepi

He had one good score in a JLT game, nothing to get excited about just yet. See if he can keep it going into the proper season before thinking he's a good pick.

Post JLT team, 151k in the bank.

a few notes on what's changed -

D3: Not sure which one of Savage/Ryan I'm starting here, I think both represent significant value. Have had Savage locked all pre-season as this thread would attest to, but not sure he is now the differential I hoped he once was. May have brought too much attention to himself before AFL season proper even in a tactical AFL aspect.

D4: Brayshaw replaced by Byrne, again not sure which of the two I'm starting at the moment, cash not an issue.

Rookies: Murray & Coffield replacing Mirra & O'Shea

M4: Danger has become Bont for now for obvious reasons.

M5: Parker showed enough in JLT to convince me he is a better POD than Pendles, for now anyway. Cripps & Neale both still under heavy consideration.

Rookies: Brayshaw replaces Mutch, who won't start straight away I don't think, keep an eye on him for a mid-season downgrade though, kid is serious quality. Ainsworth replaced by Finlayson. Hunter Clark still under heavy consideration, will probably come in if Lovell isn't named.

R1: is Goldstein a trap? Could be Grundy or Stef before round 1

R3: Cameron replaces McInerney after Sinkers LTI.

F3: Billings replaces Tobias McLean, feel it is more the safer option for now.

F4: Dunkley replacing Ah Chee due to injury, I am a massive fan of Dunk and have been for a while, definitely think a breakout is imminent and willing to take that risk. Has said himself he really struggled with injury and form last year, but a full-preseason has me confident.

Rookies: Langdon replacing Dawson, who I'll keep an eye on for a mid-season debut, tore the NEAFL to shreds last year.

So there you have it, D3/D4/M5/R1 the positions I'm still unsure about, relatively happy with the rest.

Feedback always appreciated!

Would much prefer Savage over Ryan, think there is a lot of unknowns in regards to Ryan. Byrne is a good pick however.

Like your midfield with some really nice pods. One weaker than most but really strengthens other lines.

LOCKSTEIN

Love the Dunkley pick should push 80+ this season and make some real good coin. Wingard on the otherhand is a risk with role changes etc and I would wait until after the round 10 bye.

Definitely un-researched.... if this is savage related.

As per your team
Savage > Ryan by a lot.
150k to use to get dangerfield the way i see it.
I'm not convinced on Byrne, same scoring capacity as Naughton... 60k more.
Parker another one im not the biggest fan of, history shows he should average 105+ again

Relatively settled. Only possible change I can see outside of rookies is Brayshaw -> Naughton/Bonner/Byrne (Dow down if needed) & Bontempelli -> Danger if thats the route I want to head down, will probably change a few times before lockout(s)

Rockliff comes in for Parker, I know some might raise a few eyebrows, but it wouldn't be me without a dodgy pick, and these kind of decisions can make or break a year. Port played a very possession-heavy game in the JLT and the more I think about it, the more I think Rocky might be able to get in on some of that.

Rookies obviously pending team selections. May need to swap Finlayson back and grab O'Connor or someone as I doubt Cumming gets named.

Thoughts always appreciated.

@MS, can understand the uncertainty surrounding Wingard, a punt I'm willing to take but understand it isn't for everyone.

4.2k in the kitty.

Scrap that, won't have the cash anyway. May have to look at scrapping Dunkley  :'(

Money Shot

Brayshaw down too Naughton
Bont up too Danger
