The problem is - are any if these likely to exceed Billings and Heeney; probably not. You can really only go with one more forward at their prices. But great upgrade targets once their 2018 form is exposed

Yeah mostly for an F3 position really

GoLions

Current setup for now. Have a number of high priced rookies to allow for a bit more flexibility when R1 teams come along. 67.8k remaining atm.

Laird picks himself, and Lloyd underpriced due to his concussion game last year. Witherden at D3 a question mark, originally had Williams, rip. Rookies after D3 will depend on who is named R1 really, if enough named then happy to run with this setup in defence, if not, then will obviously have to change. May look at someone like Maynard at D4 if so.

Bont at M5 I'm unsure on, rest of mids are locked at this stage. Dusty will be an upgrade target as I don't see him replicating his form of last year.

Very tempted to change NicNat to Jacobs in the rucks, Gawn locked though. R3 I'll either pick someone named early, or the best loophole option. English just a placeholder for now.

Forwards is gonna suck arse at trying to pick this year. A lot of people think Menegola will drop because he won't get as much mid time. For him to get FWD status, he would have been playing forward of the ball at least like 35% of the time, but likely more (would love if CD posted the stats for him on this). IMO Gaz will be playing a fair bit forward, and Danger will continue to play forward as well, so I don't really see Menegola's role changing. Backing him to be top 6 EOY. Billings is pretty much locked for me, and Dahl will depend on what his role looks like in the pre-season. Lobb as #1 ruck is hard to ignore, and then it's rookies. Passing on Bundy for now due to injury risk, but he is a chance to replace someone like Dahl if I need to upgrade in defence.

Lemme know what you think :)

If Loyd, Witherden, Bont, Dahlhous & Lobb don't cut it for top 6/8/6 of their respective positions will you trade them out to remain competitive towards the end of the season? LLoyd might, doubt the rest will.

Why do they all need to be top 6-8 of their positions? It's extremely unlikely that anyone on this forum, let alone in the entire competition, will end up with the best of the best across all lines.

For me, I'd probably want them to be top 10-15 in their lines at their price, whereas with guys like Laird, Menegola, etc I'd obviously want top 6-8 as I'm paying more.

depends if your going for overall. Cause if you are you're gonna need a good amount of the top tier players to be competitive. although in saying that I actually dont mind your team

Ringo

Only issue I see is you have 7 (8 if Dusty is in before) of your premiums with Rd 14 bye.  Need to be aware of this with upgrades etc.  Watch Port and Suns players who will play every game after Rd 10 to assist.

Dude, having the top 6/8/2/6 players per position at the end of the season is EXACTLY what SC is about

It'd obviously be ideal to be able to do that, but it's not realistic.

DEF: Laird, Hurley, Simmo, Hibberd, Yeo, Howe, Roberton, Rance, Lloyd, Witherden, etc

MID: Danger, TMitch, Dusty, Fyfe, Sloane, MCrouch, Zorko, Beams, JPK, Cripps, Zerrett, Neale, Ablett, Kelly, Oliver, Bont, etc

RUCK: Kreuz, Gawn, NicNat, Jacobs, Stef, Grundy, Ryder, Goldy, etc

FWD: Billings, Buddy, Menegola, Heeney, Dahl, Wingard, Greene, JJK, Lobb, Gray, etc

You're basically saying that 4 of those defenders would need to be upgraded, 8 of those mids, 6 of those rucks, and 4 of those forwards. But in reality, odds are that you'd be happy with most of those guys in your team at the end of the season, especially if you can pick them up at a discount.

Tbh, I ceebs with the byes haha. Will probably have a better look later on though. If I were to have 18 premiums once the byes come around, and I split all my upgrades between the other 2 bye rounds, could be a 5/5/8 split which isn't the worst. Change one of those before R1 and it could be 5/6/7. But yeah, we'll see :P

Good side with many similar picks to myself (WitherGOAT, MCrouch, Menegola, Billings, Lobb), so obviously I like it :P
Would definitely look at getting Bundy in there somewhere though ;)

Yeah, will track Bundy and see how he goes up until R1, but definitely a good chance of replacing one of those more expensive guys up forward :)

Ringo

Bundy looking good at training.

GoLions

Couple of changes:

WitherGOAT-->Simmo
Bont-->Zerrett
Cerra-->Holman
NN-->Sauce

...still no Bundy. Ideally I'd probably want to do something like Dahl to Bundy, Stepho to a cheaper fwd rookie, and a def rookie up to a premo. Will wait on structural changes closer to R1 though I think.

Money Shot

Can't fault the team mate with some nice pods across all lines that are as good a chance of any of being top 10.

Personally, I think Dahl to Bundy, Stepheson to cheaper forward and the upgrade of a defender would look really good mate.
